For questions, contact our Rectory at or From 1983 until 1990 I was assigned as Associate Pastor of St. John Bosco Parish in Chicago. I was active in all parts of parish life, including the weekly adult Religious Education program which I initiated. From 1980 to 1983 my assignment as Associate Pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Hyde Park, Chicago. My duties included moderating the Guild of the Tabernacle, the High School youth group, and the Ministers of Care. Non-parochial activities included giving missions and sacramental supply work at other parishes. There was much contact with both students and faculty of the University of Chicago. At this time, I was also on the Ethics Board of Illinois Central Hospital. From 1979 to 1980 my deacon internship was at St. Mary of the Lake Parish in Chicago. My responsibilities included visitation and social work through the community center of the parish. Did You Know... THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE APPEARED IN THE JULY 1ST, 2012 BULLETIN. My most recent assignment was Associate Pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Wilmette where I directed the program, taught in the grade school, and helped with the formation of the faculty. From 1990 until 2001 I was assigned as Associate Pastor of St. Peter s Parish in Skokie. My responsibilities included moderating the Holy Name Society and youth groups. I also directed the R.C.I.A. program. During the academic year, I was the acting principal of St. Peter s grade school. From September 1, 1991 until February 1, 1992, I was the administrator of St. Peter s parish. My non-parochial activities have included frequent retreats and days of renewal for the Ambassadors of Mary, various Ministry of Care groups and other special groups in several parishes. I have acted as Chaplain to the Missionaries of Charity and Seton Academy for the past eighteen years. From 1973 to 1975 I was a Basselin Scholar at the Catholic University of America. I received a B.A. in Philosophy in 1975 and M.A. in 1976 from the School of Philosophy. Other institutions attended were Niles College of Loyola University, Quigley Preparatory Seminary South and St. Hugh School in Lyons. Pastoral activities at the Catholic University of America included teaching CCD at Andrews Air Force Base. I have taught Philosophy part-time at Loyola since I also joined the part-time faculty of Montay College where I served as the Chair of the Department of Religion and Philosophy. I also served as Academic Dean of Montay before it closed in I joined the faculty of St. Joseph College Seminary of Loyola University in September 1994, where I currently teach Philosophy part-time. I served as Academic Dean from August 1997 until June I have also been active in the ecumenical dialogue between the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Polish National Catholic Church. I was appointed to the Greek Orthodox/Roman Catholic Dialogue Commission serving in the dialogue between the Catholic and Orthodox Dioceses of Chicago. I was the 1997 Seton Academy Examplar of the Year. I am a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and Chaplain to the Father Stroot Council of the Knights in Skokie. I also serve as Chaplain of the Catholic Physicians Guild of Chicago. I am very pleased to be at St. Louise de Marillac Parish. Father Henry Kricek Page 3

5 High School Teen Club There will be Teen Club June 29, and July 6 and 20. Teen Room opens at 7:30, open gym 8 until 10 PM. Remember to bring a high school ID. Just 5Days Last week a team of nine youth and adults from our parish spent five days in service to people in need in Milwaukee. They served at Nia Imani, whose mission is to foster independent living for mothers and their children recovering from homelessness, violence and traumatic life experiences. Watch next week in the bulletin, web site, and Facebook for pictures and reflections about their service. Summer Doings Dates TBD Youth Ministry will be traveling to Great America on June 27. Group tickets are $38 if we have at least 15 without passes or memberships. Transportation will be $10-$20, depending on the number attending. Money and permission forms are due by noon on June 24. If there are not at least 12 attending by that point the bus will be cancelled, and we will arrange car pools--drivers must be at least 21 years of age and Virtus trained. This is open to grades 7 and older--younger with parent only. Permission forms are available in the bulletin rack, at the rectory, or in the Teen Room. On August 2-3, join us for fun, games, prayer, and fellowship at Camp Bullfrog Lake in Willow Springs. Open to girls entering grades 8-12 in the school year. Participation in this retreat is limited to eight girls, due to the size of the venue. Cost is $20. Permission forms available in the Youth Ministry bulletin rack, the rectory, Teen Room, or from Karyn Miller.
