Beyond Crayons and Cheerios: Does your child know the names of the Pastor, or Worship Leaders? When your child takes a visit to the doctor or dentist you probably say, today we are going to see Dr.. Knowing the name(s) and hearing them mentioned at home helps with association and trust. Introduce your child to the Pastor and Worship Leaders. Each Sunday make it a point to have your child help to give a personal hello or goodbye to the church workers you pass on the way in and out of church. Perhaps during the service your child could draw or color a picture as a gift for the Pastor and/or Worship Leaders. Your child will soon see the Pastor and other Worship Leaders as their friends and not stranger/danger adults.
5 Started October 3 rd It s never too late to join! 6pm-7pm The Word of God led by Vicar Alex-When you pick up the Bible, what are you holding? When you go to church, what are you hoping for? When you read the Scriptures, what is going on? Over the next seven weeks, this class will study the Word of God, what it is, how God uses it to speak to us, and why we continue to rely on it for guidance in all of faith and life. If you want answers to these questions and others like them (Is the Bible really trustworthy?), then join us and learn how God continues to speak to us in his Word today. 9 Prime Timers next meeting will be November 12th, in the Emmaus Room for a Potluck Luncheon at 11:30 AM. Our CCDS Principal, Dave Beringer, will give us a presentation on his mission trip to Africa. It should be a very interesting presentation. If you signed up to go to the Hudson Dinner Theater on October 25th, meet at the Church at 4:45 PM and we will caravan by car to the theater and leave at 5:00 PM. Seventeen of our Prime Timers, this past Monday, visited the Catawba Correctional Center in Maiden. They served us lunch while we were being entertained by one of the Imperfect But Forgiven singers. There was a question and answer session. We learned about the history of the prison and how it functions. We were then given a complete tour of the facility. We were also allowed to visit with some of the inmates. The belief of our Lord and Savior was quite evident there. This was a worthwhile visit and was enjoyed by all. "Christ Blessings To All"
