Children are loved at Concordia. A staffed Nursery for ages 6 weeks to 3 years is available in the Church Nursery and PK-4 Room at the school. The nursery is available during Bible classes, 10:30, and 10:45 worship services. Children s Bulletins are also available as well as worship bags. An usher can help give directions to the nursery, give children's bulletins or get a worship bag. Youth Ministry Highlights March 8, 2015 Join us this Wednesday for Lent: 5:30pm Dinner 6:30pm Worship 7:15-8:00pm Youth SOS Witness Event for Concordia with Easter Door Hangers! Join us next Sunday, March 15th at 9:15am or Wednesday, March 18th after Lent Worship to participate in this evangelism endeavor! This activity fulfills the Confirmation Student s Witness Event requirement for Confirmation Instruction! The Youth Ministry Team meets next Sunday (3/15) at Youth Central at 12pm. Don t forget to bring your notebooks! Sunday Extravaganza is in 2 weeks on March 22nd: Our next Sunday Extravaganza is March 22nd. We meet for 8:00am worship in our red, SERVANT t-shirts and then go serve the community. We will be working for Hope Project-Gardens in Newton (bring rakes, gloves, hoes, etc.). After working we go to eat as a church family at Il Bambini Pizzeria in Plaza Latina in Newton! The entire congregation is invited! Congratulations to Parker Ellwanger on earning his Eagle Scout Award! What an accomplishment! Youth Quake spiritual retreat openings for 5-8 grade are still available. Communion: In the Lord s Supper, Jesus offers the faithful His true body and blood to eat and drink. These words, Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins, show us that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. These words, along with the bodily eating and drinking, are the main thing in the Sacrament. Anyone who has questions is invited to speak to the pastor or elder before communing. The cups in the center of the tray are filled with a white non-alcoholic wine and gluten free wafers are available for those with allergies.

8 ECCCM is completely out of deodorant and shampoo. Other items that are need are tissues, toothbrushes and feminine products. Place your donation under the ECCCM Trees so we can help fill this urgent need in our community. Thank you, Board of Mission and Ministry. There is going to be a ladies night out on March 24 at 6:30 pm at hip hip hoowray in downtown Conover. The cost is $40 per person and you get to paint and decorate a cut out design. If you would like to purchase an Easter lily in honor or memory of a loved one for Easter Sunday, please fill out one of the forms found at the entrances. Please return the form to the church office no later than March 10 th. The forms will also be available in your March newsletter. The special needs riders that come to Rising Hope Farms are never charged for their therapeutic riding instruction thanks to the volunteers- but we need more volunteers as the riders are getting ready to start after the long winter! Open house is on Saturday, March 28 from 3-5pm. It is a wonderful ministry that blesses both the participants and the volunteers. Thank you, Joyce Boston. CONCORDIA PRIME TIMERS: Concordia Prime Timers will meet on Wednesday, March 11 th this week. We will be hosting the NOON Lenten meal with a Pot Luck Luncheon. All those that are bringing food should have it in the kitchen prior to the 11:15am service if at all possible, or no later than 11:45 am. Concordia Prime Timers is an organization for those who are 55 and older to get together with fellow congregants and friends for monthly fellowship and devotional experiences with the goal of leading happy, fulfilling lives, and to grow in our faith in Christ. Please feel free to join us no matter your age. Prime Timers meet on the second Monday of each month at 11:30am in the Emmaus room unless a special day trip is planned. Save the date! Family Camp is Friday, September 18 th through Sunday, September 20 th. More information to follow. Corner Table Serving/Cooking Teams: The Corner Table is one of the organizations the Mission & Ministry Board supports. This community outreach program provides a nutritious lunch Monday through Friday to everyone who comes to their door. The M&M board invites you to join a Serving Team, Cooking Team or both! Serving Team people - 10:30am to 1:00pm. Cooking Team people - 8:00am and stay through lunch. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Betty Heavner ( bcheavner@bellsouth.net). The Accreditation Review Team will be at CCDS on Monday, March 9 th and Tuesday, March 10 th. They will be observing classes, interviewing students, faculty, School Board members and others. Please welcome them and thank them for volunteering for the Team. CCSD is holding two Open Houses this year. Friday, March 13 and Friday April 17 are the dates. The Open House will include an information session with the principal as well as tours and visiting classrooms. Encourage your friends and relatives to check us out.
