A Nursery for ages 6 weeks to 3 years is available in the Church Nursery and PK-4 Room at the school. The nursery is available during Bible classes, 10:30am, and 10:45am worship services. Children s Bulletins are also available as well as worship bags. An usher can help give directions to the nursery, give children's bulletins or get a worship bag. Ministry Moment: President David Isenhower Concordia s Church Council, Elders, and Ministry Staff, with Pastor Tim Fangmeier as our facilitator, will meet in retreat on Saturday, March 12, to continue planning for congregational action on our proposed Mission, Strategies, Values and Critical Targets. Over the past several months, we have been identifying what we each believe are critical targets which we might achieve with God s help and the Holy Spirit s guidance. We thank you for your contribution to this process. If you wish to have a copy of these critical targets, you may pick up a copy from the church office this week. Please understand that these are our jumping off ideas for identifying broad critical targets for ministry into the future. I encourage you to pray for our leaders and this process this week and especially on Saturday, March 12 between 9am and noon. Sample prayers can be found on the insert. 4 Youth Quake spiritual retreat: -Our Pre-Teen Youth, Jr. Youth and adult sponsors are in Durham this weekend for this spiritual retreat. -We return today after 4pm. -Please keep us in your prayers! March 6, 2016 Youth Ministry Highlights Special High School Event today, Sunday, March 6th, for Sr. Youth: A special Concordia family has donated money for our Sr. Youth to host and congratulate the State Champion Wrestlers of NCHS. We have invited the wrestlers from NCHS (with their coach s help) to accompany our Sr. Youth to the movies. Meet at Carmike 14 Cinema in Hickory at 4:30pm (showtime is 5pm). All Sr. Youth are invited to attend this event.and it is completely free. Youth Ministry Team meets next Sunday, March 13th: Join us in Youth Central form 12-2pm. Today we are blessing 50 paintings and 36 photographs that will be shared at Levine Children's Hospital and Levine Cancer Center. God placed this project on the heart of Kathryn Wolfe following the passing of her Grandmother Long due to cancer. This is also part of Kathryn's project toward receiving the Silver Award in Girl Scouts. Concordia is cordially invited to a retirement reception for Conover Police Chief Steve W. All names should be submitted no later than March 15, Communion: In the Lord s Supper, Jesus offers the faithful His true body and blood to eat and drink. These words, Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins, show us that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. These words, along with the bodily eating and drinking, are the main thing in the Sacrament. Anyone who has questions is invited to speak to the pastor or elder before communing. The cups in the center of the tray are filled with a white non-alcoholic wine and gluten free wafers are available for those with allergies.
