Members and guests, please write your name in the Welcome to Worship folders at the end of the pews so we can more faithfully serve you and get to know you by name. A Nursery for ages 6 weeks to 3 years is available in the Church Nursery and PK-4 Room at the school. The nursery is available during Bible classes, 10:30am, and 10:45am worship services. Children s Bulletins are also available as well as worship bags. An usher can help give directions to the nursery, give children's bulletins or get a worship bag. Wear your bathing suit. we will play Kiddie Pool Kickball. And have water balloons! 6:00pm is Youth Hang Time. At 6:30pm our activities begin! 5 Prime Timers will meet on Monday, September 12th at 11:30 in the Emmaus Room. Bring your favorite "covered dishes" and a guest to enjoy a special program on "Life Line and Fall Prevention" by Carol Robinson, Lifeline Coordinator, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. A short business meeting will follow. For our October 10th meeting, we will be going by commercial bus to Mt. Airy to visit "Mayberry" and see the many places that we saw on the Andy Griffin Show. The fall leaves should be at their peak. Hope everyone is making plans to go on this enjoyable and fun filled day. We will need to get a count of the number of people going at our September meeting. Details will be shared. Concordia Christian Day School is kicking of the first week of school with their yearly magazine sale. If you would like to renew or subscribe to a magazine, please call the school office or talk to a student. Homecoming is Sunday, September 11 th. There will be two services on this day, 8:00am and a combined service in the sanctuary at 10:45am. Pastor Larry Lineberger will be the guest speaker. After the 10:45am service, we will have a covered dish picnic in the horseshoe. The Holy Smokers will be grilling the chicken! Paper products and beverages will be provided. SUNDAY EXTRAVAGANZA is September 25th: Everyone in the congregation is invited and can serve in the community on these Sundays! Servant t-shirts are available for free to participants and are handed out before the 8am service on these days. Pick one up and be a part of serving in the community. On Sunday, September 4 th, children will be called forward to attend Children s Church in the Library of CCDS. The Children s Church Leader will be teaching an age appropriate lesson that will vary from the regular Power Hour lesson. The children will return to the worship center after the sermon. The First Rosa a DVD produced by our Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod depicts our Mission Work among African Americans, working alongside a woman named Rosa Young-- resulting in the start of 20+ Congregations across the South and Concordia College-Selma, AL. These words, Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins, show us that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. These words, along with the bodily eating and drinking, are the main thing in the Sacrament. Anyone who has questions is invited to speak to the pastor or elder before communing. The cups in the center of the tray are filled with a white non-alcoholic wine and gluten free wafers are available for those with allergies.
