Refreshments will follow. The featured speaker is Rev. Michael Salemink, Executive Director of Lutherans for Life. The seminar will stress how we can change the hearts of people about life issues with the powerful message of God s Love. For more information, call Pastor Scott Johnson, President of North Carolina Lutherans for Life, at Communion: In the Lord s Supper, Jesus offers the faithful His true body and blood to eat and drink. These words, Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins, show us that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. These words, along with the bodily eating and drinking, are the main thing in the Sacrament. Anyone who has questions is invited to speak to the pastor or elder before communing. The cups in the center of the tray are filled with a white non-alcoholic wine and gluten free wafers are available for those with allergies.
8 Starting Sunday, January 8 th, 9:15-10:15am: New Bible Studies Adult Room #1 Led by Cindy Sigmon - It starts at home - Learn to Confidently Teach Your Kids about God (RightNow Media Library). - In these busy, hectic days we take our kids to sports practices, games, music lessons, school tutoring and other activities to give our children the best opportunities for success. But what if we're missing the chance to teach them what matters most? In these six sessions, we will explore biblical and tangible ways that parents couples, single parents, blended families and grandparents can build a legacy of faith for their children. Emmaus Room Led by Pastor Micheel - The Real St. Nick. This Bible study surveys St. Nick and the age-old traditions surrounding him. What St. Nick has set down for us all is a lifestyle of service and going the distance for Jesus Christ. Whether it's staying the executioner's blade from the neck of three innocents, bailing out a man's daughters from prostitution with gold, or simply giving children gifts, St. Nick took his faith to the streets and made a difference as a follower of Christ. ONE WEEK ONLY. Adult Room #2 Led by Pastor Schudde The Monday Morning Christian We will explore the call of Jesus in the Gospels and in the Book of Acts to be 7-day-a-week-Christians. Our Southeastern District LCMS has put together a number of resources that offer helpful facts about the world in which we live in 2017, and the opportunities every Christian has right out their front door. Starting Sunday, January 15 th, 9:15-10:15am: Emmaus Room Led By Pastor Micheel The Mormons. The Mormon Church (aka The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) means different things to different people. From its feel-good, family oriented TV commercials to its Grammy and Emmy winning Mormon Tabernacle Choir to its bicycling missionaries, the Mormon Church is high profile all the way. Founded in the early 19th century, this religious movement boasts more than 15 million members and 85,000 missionaries, ranking it in the top five of "Christian denominations" in the U.S., according to the National Council of Churches. Join us for this 6-week study on The Mormons. Runs through February 19, In this season of gift giving to family, friends and those less fortunate, we hope you ll also consider a gift to the church. It s through donations from our congregation that we are able to carry on our work. For your convenience, we offer electronic giving options that help you contribute when you don t have cash or your checkbook, or when you re traveling during the holidays and can t attend services. Stop by the church office or visit our website to learn more. Thank you for all you do to support our mission during the holidays and throughout the year.
