Youth Ministry Highlights July 20, 2014 We ve returned from our Adventure Week! Our Sr. Youth have returned from whitewater rafting, boulder climbing, motor boating, swimming, skiing and Bible fellowship! Thank you for your prayers! Watch for the pictures! Youth Ministry Vision Statement: We exist to love and lead our young people to Christ! We are gone (again) this weekend for our YM Beach Garden City Beach, SC. We made reservations for this trip about 10 months ago as the conclusion to this year s Sunday Extravaganza Ministry. We are having nightly devotions/worship on the beach and discussions about our Servant Event efforts to the Newton/Conover Community. Please keep us in your prayers. Starting August 3 rd - The Book of Ruth Come dig into a beautiful narrative of the redemption of Ruth, a widowed woman, and in the process begins to understand our own redemption in Christ Jesus! Led by Geri Halma in the Emmaus Room. Starting August 10 th - The Great Deceiver Satan, meaning deceiver, is quite crafty. He even seeks to manipulate the truth of God s Work so that His redeemed people turn away. Come learn about God s victory over the Great Deceiver, and our own victory in Christ, that you too may stay strong in the faith. Led by Pastors Weaver and Schudde in Adult Room 2 Communion: In the Lord s Supper, Jesus offers the faithful His true body and blood to eat and drink. These words, Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins, show us that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. These words, along with the bodily eating and drinking, are the main thing in the Sacrament. Anyone who has questions is invited to speak to the pastor or elder before communing. The cups in the center of the tray are filled with a white or pink non-alcoholic wine and gluten free wafers are available for those with allergies. 6 Attention all those with yard sale items to spare! The Cub Scouts are having a yard sale on August 2 nd from 8am-12pm. Donations are now being accepted and can be dropped off in the Cub Scout Room. We have a Part-time position open in the Preschool. We need someone who is responsible, energetic and loves children. The hours are from 12-6 and pay varies depending on education and experience.
