1 United in Christ s Love OPPORTUNITIES FOR MINISTRY Friendship United Methodist Church 1200 Neely Store Road Rock Hill, SC (803) www/friendship-umc-rhsc.org fumc@navacore.net
2 Friendship s Vision United in Christ s love, we glorify God through worship, nurture and service to all people. And He said to them, Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation. Mark 16:15
3 Opportunities to share your spiritual gifts This brochure lists most of the volunteer opportunities available at Friendship United Methodist Church. Please take time to consider thoughtfully and prayerfully the spiritual gifts you are able to share and the time you are able to give as you share the ministries. The first thing you might do is consider what your spiritual gifts may be. Then, compare your gifts with the opportunities listed in this brochure. Finally, identify or select those ministries you are committed to or interested in and call the names given in this booklet. You can meet or talk with these individuals about your gifts or how you might share your gifts. Now about Spiritual gifts, there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. I Corinthians 12:4-7
4 Dear Friends at Friendship, We are all called by God to Share our gifts. In an effort to assist your answer to that call, we are pleased to present Friendship s Opportunities for Ministry brochure. We invite you to take time to reflect on your special talents and the time you have to share them. At the same time, ask yourself how you might put God first when it comes to sharing God s gifts. Each of us has been graciously blessed with special talents known as spiritual gifts, and the ways in which we choose to share those gifts can put us on a path to a life of meaning and fulfillment. As we share our gifts, we help to create a community of love, compassion and joy in our church and our community. It is our hope that the information provided in this brochure helps answer questions about the many ministries here at Friendship and how your gifts might be an important part of doing God s work. If you are unsure what your spiritual gifts are or have never objectively determined what they are, the Spiritual Gifts Assessment can be found on the following link: The Administrative Council For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve Mark 10:45 They are to do good, be rich in good works, generous, and ready to share, thus storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they make take hold of the life that really is life. I Timothy 6:18-19
