A Nursery for ages 6 weeks to 4 years is available in the Church Nursery and PK-4 Room at the school. The nursery is available during all services. Children s Bulletins are available as well as crayons and colored pencils and can be found at the welcome centers. An usher can give directions to the nursery or give children's bulletins. 4 Connect - Grow - Bridge Work days at Camp Linn Haven are April 20 th & 27 th and May 4 th & 11 th. It can be a fun way to volunteer and serve as a family. Lutheran Early Response Training (LERT) will be offering a Chainsaw Training Safety Course on Saturday, April 27 at St. Peter s Lutheran Church from 8:30am-3:00pm. Pastor Eric Hollar of Bethel Claremont and Alex Schandert from Hope Lutheran in Wake Forest, NC will be the instructors. The training will involve classroom and hands on training at a nearby property that will increase overall knowledge and safety practices using a chainsaw. Please call Bethel Lutheran (828) to RSVP so we can prepare enough materials. ECCCM is now accepting paper and plastic bags. The will also take empty egg cartons. Cindy Sigmon has graciously volunteered to take any donated items to ECCCM. Boy Scout BBQ! Once again, it s that time of year when our Boy Scout Troop makes their delicious BBQ. National Youth Gathering support day at PDQ this Sunday, April 14 from 10:30am to 9:00pm. Visit PDQ in Hickory TODAY and mention you would like your purchase to support Concordia NYG. PDQ will donate a portion of the proceeds. THANKS for your support! Concordia s standing day to serve at ECCCM is the first Monday of each month. If you only have an hour to spare, they need you! Please prayerfully consider serving in our neighborhood ministry outreach. Thank you to all the folks that helped make this a great stop for the Martin Luther High School. The hosts, the cooks, the servers, the community support, the church staff and everyone that came out to enjoy the concert. It was a grand success! Easter Sunday Schedule for Concordia Kids The Board of Christian Education sends this reminder that Children preschool 4 th grade and Youth 5 th - 12 th grades will celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord with their families in worship. We will not gather for Children s Church, Sunday school or adult Bible study. Easter Sunrise Service 7:00 am. Come support our Youth and enjoy Easter breakfast in the cafeteria from 8-9:00 am. Our Worship word this week for April 14 is, Hosanna. Hosanna means, save now! It is a cry to God for help. Today is Palm Sunday. We celebrate the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. It must have looked like a parade as Jesus went through the streets with everyone waving and cheering. Jesus rode into the city on a calm donkey rather than on a horse that was ridden off to war. As Jesus entered the town people began to throw their coats on the road in front of him. They cut branches from the palm trees and waved them shouting, Hosanna! Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord. We are here to praise the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and shout Hosanna. Did you know you can turn your palm frond into a cross? 6 FISH classes begin again on Wednesday, May 1 st! This session will be five weeks ending on May 29 th. FISH is Concordia s educational program on Wednesday evenings for all ages, pre-school through adult. Nursery is provided for children 0-3 years old. Join us for a meal at 5:30pm in the Emmaus Room. 6-7pm Classes: Children s Ministry Led by Belinda Bost For pre-school through 4 th grade, Mrs. Bost will be instructing children with a Vacation Bible School type hour filled with age appropriate activities. Lesson. Activity. Craft. Nursery is provide for children younger than preschool age. (0-3 years) Who am I? What am I doing here? - Led by Vicar Alex - Imagine yourself in a strange new place. You don t know anyone, and the person you came with has mysteriously disappeared. If you are like me, you will probably find a safe corner and fidget about, trying to look busy. Then you will think, What am I doing here? Life can be like that. You re at work, and you suddenly think, What am I doing here? You look up at the pulpit one Sunday, What am I doing here? Who am I anyway? If you have ever asked that question, then come join us for a video study featuring Dr. Joel Biermann as he walks us through two of life s most significant questions, Who am I? What am I doing here? Prayer: We Speak to God by John Kleinig Led by Ashlie Sloter - As Christians we are called to be imitators of our Lord Jesus Christ in all things. By supplication, prayer, intercession, and thanksgiving we learn to speak to the Father and seek his kingdom. Here we will work through the study guide Prayer: We Speak to God by John Kleinig as he points us to scripture, liturgy, and the large catechism as teachers and guides for learning the importance and function of prayer in the spiritual life of believers. Lutheranism 101 Led by Pastor Nelson - Pastor Nelson will be teaching a class to review the basic teachings of the Lutheran Church for potential members, members who want a review, people interested in finding out what we believe and teach, and any friend who wants to learn the doctrines and practices of us Lutherans. This class will continue until June 26 th. 7-8pm Classes "Preparing for Worship" Led by Pastor Nelson This class looks at the assigned lessons for each Sunday. Come join the discussion and see how the lessons are more meaningful when you hear them read in church on Sunday. The insight you will gain is enormous.

7 PrimeTimers met this past Wednesday and hosted the Lenten meal after the 11:15 am Lenten Service. After lunch, we played Bingo. A good time was had by all. Thanks to Kyle McClure for giving up his time to call the Games. Great Job Kyle! Twenty PrimeTimers traveled to the Hudson Dinner Theater to see the play "Divorce, Southern Style." For anyone that has not been there, you re missing a great treat. Fun was had by all. Next month the children from CCDS will entertain us with their musical skills. We need hosts for three more months this year. We will have another meeting at a local restaurant. As we approach this coming Easter celebration, always remember the sacrifice God made for us to give us salvation, forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life for all. "Christ s Blessings to all"
