2 MINISTRY STAFF We are glad you are here! Members and guests, please write your name in the Welcome to Worship folders at the end of the pews so we can more faithfully serve you and get to know you by name. A Nursery for ages 6 weeks to 4 years is available in the Church Nursery and PK-4 Room at the school. The nursery is available during Bible classes, 10:30am, and 10:45am worship services. Children s Bulletins are also available as well as worship bags. An usher can help give directions to the nursery, give children's bulletins or get a worship bag. A combined meeting of Church Council and Boards will be on Tuesday, July 11 th from 6:30-8:30pm. Donny Setzer has graciously volunteered the Trustees to grill hot dogs for everyone. We will meet together and then allow each board to break out to elect their Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. I pray that we allow God to lead Concordia forward and work through us to do His will. Missionary of the Month: Danielle Putnam is serving in the Dominican Republic as a developmental disabilities outreach missionary. She is working with six orphans at a home called Good Shepherd Lutheran Home and training Dominicans to be able to minister mercy to people with developmental disabilities. Olive Church Rd, Newton, NC. $1.25ea $6 for 5 $12 for 12 Be the HOPE for Lumberton, is the theme for VBS and Summer Sunday School mission project. Concordia Kids will learn of the disaster relief taking place in Lumberton NC at Nanny s Korner Day Care Center. Our 5 th and 6 th grade pre-teen class will be creating art work for walls, plastic storage crate seating for the preschool rooms, large chalk magnetic boards for the toddler rooms and a whimsy painted rocker for the infant room. Brain Hefner will be leading this class. Register now for this service project using the link: Patriotic Service: Join us Sunday, July 2nd for two special services of Songs and Readings as we give thanks to God for the freedoms we enjoy. Both Services will be in the main sanctuary. The times are 8:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Pastor Schudde's final Sunday at Concordia will be Sunday, July 16th. On Sunday, July 23 rd Pastor Nelson will preach. On Sunday, July 30 th Seminarian Mark Moretz will preach. Prime Timers, the week has come for our trip Tuesday, June 20th to Wytheville, VA for lunch and musical performance of "NOW SINGS MY SOUL" Please gather in the Horseshoe at or a little before 9AM as the bus will be leaving at 9:15AM. We will be stopping once on the way there and once on the way back at a rest stop. We still have two meeting dates to fill so bring your ideas to our July meeting for discussion. Ladies, please meet at the Emmaus Room at 6:30 to carpool; bring small gifts (toiletries, puzzles, etc., NOT snacks) for the auction in which residents bid with their money for the items. 6 Bible Study Opportunities "The Bible on Trial!" is a new bible study starting next Sunday. Can the bible be trusted? What "evidence" is there from ancient manuscripts and archeology that support the validity of the scriptures? In this Video based study hear an actual trial lawyer call experts to the witness stand as evidence is presented. You are the jury. Plan to attend: Sundays 9:15 a.m. in the Emmaus Room. These words, Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins, show us that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. These words, along with the bodily eating and drinking, are the main thing in the Sacrament. Anyone who has questions is invited to speak to the pastor or elder before communing. The cups in the center of the tray are filled with a white non-alcoholic wine and gluten free wafers are available for those with allergies.
