A Nursery for ages 6 weeks to 3 years is available in the Church Nursery and PK-4 Room at the school. The nursery is available during Bible classes, 10:30am, and 10:45am worship services. Children s Bulletins are also available as well as worship bags. An usher can help give directions to the nursery, give children's bulletins or get a worship bag. September 11, 2016 Youth Ministry Highlights Join us this Wednesday (9/14) for Youth Group Activities! 6:00pm Youth Hang Time (food, foosball, ping-pong, etc.) 6:30pm SOS (topical study, Confirmation, FUN) Our Pre-Teen Youth at SOS are starting a study on Christian Friendship Skills! I have a gift for all the 5/6 graders who come to SOS! Our Pre-Teen Youth (LYF) went Bowling and our Jr. Youth (LYF) went to Beanstalk, yesterday! Thanks to Buffy Smith and Holly/Ryan Rudisill for organizing these trips! Next month look for Scarrowinds and Halloween! SUNDAY EXTRAVAGANZA is September 25th All 5-12 grade rosters have been updated and mailed out to each individual. If your contact information has changed or needs to be corrected then please speak with Susan in the front church office. 5 Prime Timers will meet tomorrow at 11:30am in the Emmaus Room. Bring your favorite "covered dishes." A short business meeting will follow. For October, we will travel by commercial bus to Mayberry/Mt. Airy, NC. Cost is $35.00 per person which includes bus fare, step-on guide and gratuities. Departure is on October 10 at 9:15am from the horseshoe and return around 6:30pm. We will have lunch at Snappy's Luncheon around 11-11:30am. We need a minimum of 30 participants (maximum 56) with reservations and payment by September 30th. Make checks payable to Concordia PrimeTimers, give to Vivian Knight, treasurer, or leave with Susan Harman in the church office. ECCCM Urgent Need: Are you looking for a way to eliminate hunger in our community? We have an opportunity for you! ECCCM is in need of grocery pickup volunteers who go to local grocery stores and pick up groceries to be distributed through our food pantry. Volunteers are needed on the 3rd and 5th Friday and the 3rd Saturday of each month. On call volunteers are needed as backup when regular drivers are unavailable. The ECCCM van is provided for the volunteer's use. The theme this year is We Cry Out, A generation seeking Him and is based on Psalm 24:3-6. Our YMT will be visiting area high schools to participate in praying around the flag pole with students. Pregnancy Care Center of Hickory has invited all churches to attend a special evening of theater with Acts of Renewal performers Jim and Carol Shore - This event will take the place of the "Walk for Life." Please join the PPC of Hickory on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 7:00-8:30pm at Harvest Bible Chapel of Hickory US-70, Hickory. Donations will be accepted. Doors open at 6:30pm and light desserts will be served. The Concordia Lutheran Laymen s League LLL is again sponsoring the Catawba County Backpack Program for the 2016/2017 school year. Each Thursday we deliver 50 bags of food that include 5 meals and 3 snacks for children in need. If you would like to make a donation to the program, please make checks payable to LLL, memo Backpack Program and give to Terry Kuchenbecker, Cliff Brown, Brandon Elrod, Doug Brady, David or Caleb Welch, or Roger Shull. We will purchase food in bulk for the program. It is a wonderful ministry so please pray for us as we feed God s children.

These words, Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins, show us that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. These words, along with the bodily eating and drinking, are the main thing in the Sacrament. Anyone who has questions is invited to speak to the pastor or elder before communing. The cups in the center of the tray are filled with a white non-alcoholic wine and gluten free wafers are available for those with allergies.
