2 WORD OF THE LORD ANNOUNCEMENTS GOD S SUMMONS Confronted with God s power and majesty, the first response of the prophet Isaiah was to acknowledge his sinfulness. Woe is me, I am doomed! For I am a man of unclean lips, he said aloud. Likewise, with his empty fishing nets drama cally filled at Jesus instruc on, Peter fell to his knees and cried out, Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man. Next, Peter got up. He docked his boats then le to follow Jesus. Isaiah also had a drama c change of heart. When he heard the Lord say, Whom shall I send? Who will go for us? Isaiah answered, Here I am, send me. We are summoned daily by the Risen Lord. We are reminded of the saving power of the gospel and know in our heart of hearts that, as St. Paul wrote, believing in anything else won t lead to anything. What will it take for you to move past your sinfulness? What will it take for you to get off your knees? 4 The funds raising ini a ves for Saint Paul Catholic School for the school year are underway with modifica ons made necessary by the effects of Hurricane Florence. Our annual Reach for the Stars Gala will take place at the Flame Catering and Banquet Center on Saturday, March 23rd. Enjoy dinner catered by Chef Smoke and his staff at the Flame, a cash bar, and dancing to the music of Bryan Mayer, and his band. (Bryan is a Saint Paul Catholic School graduate and recording ar st). You will also have a chance to bid on an exci ng array of both live and silent auc on items. Tickets for the Gala are now available through Eventbrite on the school website Individual ckets for the event are $50, and individual drink wristbands are $25. A way to support Saint Paul School and to promote your business at the same me is to become an event sponsor. Details regarding sponsorship opportuni es are available on the school website. Since our Fall Fes val was canceled due to Hurricane Florence, we have scheduled a Spring Fes val for Friday, May 3 rd. Mark your calendars for an evening of family fun. In addi on, the raffle previously scheduled for the Fall Fes val will be held that evening. The proceeds of these events go directly to the school for enhancement programs as well as student scholarships. Our mission is to educate the whole child as we strive to serve all our families. To ensure our con nued success, we are reques ng the help of the parish and community. As always, we thank you for your generous support and prayers. SAINT PAUL YOUTH PLAY BALL!! Registra on is now open for the 2019 Saint Paul spring baseball SPCC teams! If there are enough interested players AND someone is willing to volunteer as head coach, we can field a team. Openings are VERY limited for our minor league teams (age 9-10). Rookie league (age 7-8) registra on is open but limited as well. Tee-ball registra on is open and we will also need a volunteer for tee-ball head coach. Registra on is based on age before April 30th.
