THE AWANA GRAND PRIX is this, March 4 at SMBC! Doors open at 5:30 pm and racing begins at 7:05 pm. Everyone is welcome to come cheer for our boys and girls as they participate in this fun competition. SAVE THE DATE! On Saturday, March 14 we need everyone who can help come wash all the dining chairs in the Fellowship Center beginning at 9:30 am. Together we can get those chairs sparkling clean! VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is scheduled for June 15 th through the 19 th! We are beginning to recruit volunteers now! If you have a specific area that you would like to help in, please notify Debbe Haley ( ) or Cheryl Isaac ( ) before March 8, Otherwise, we may have to ask you to be flexible. Reminder: We are asking you to save your one-gallon milk jugs. We need at least 700 of them! We will have a box in the foyer in the next few weeks that you can leave them in. Please wash them out before donating! SUMMER MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY Are you a college student looking for a ministry opportunity here at home? Applications are due by March 31 for this summer's openings DYW PROGRAM The Distinguished Young Women of Shafter Program will take place on Friday, March 20 at 7:00pm in the Starrh Performing Arts Center at Shafter High. The young ladies participating this year are Hannah Mosley, Aubrie Richardson, Jenna Sanchez, Karen Gutierrez, Katie Coyle, Yazil Castro, Cierra Smith, Brittnie Colvard, Libby Rogers, Alyssa Hill, and Kaitlin Bloemhof. 3 Our Praise & Petitions For we are God s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10). Because You Prayed: Hume Lake High School Camp was a life-changing weekend, Shafter Colours was a great celebration and Esther Melendrez hip surgery went well (Ephesians 2:10)! Health Needs: Continue to pray for Nicolas Bergen (rehab), Kathy Frantz (left retina), Josie Ramirez (shingles), Belva Warkentin (left corneal transplant), Byron Willems (kidney surgery) and Esther Melendrez as they are cared for. Also remember Johnathon Smith as doctors work to diagnose his ongoing pain and how to treat it (Psalm 97:1). Church Life and Ministries: Remember the Council as they meet this week as well as the AWANA Grand Prix on (II Timothy 2:15). Community, National and International Concerns: Pray for law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMT s as they serve our communities (Psalm 96:10). MORE NEWS WEST COAST MENNONITE MEN S CHORUS is a choir of nearly 200 men from the Mennonite Brethren Churches of the Pacific Coast. The concerts are free, with the opportunity to make donations towards the Mennonite Central Committee world relief efforts.
