Pastor Pat - September 11, 2016 Believe: Salvation (Ephesians 2:1-10) We may believe that the God of the Bible is the one true and personal God, but how does a person enter into a relationship with Him? What does it mean to have salvation through faith in Jesus? Our Map to Follow: The Problem: We are not born into a relationship with God. The Solution: There is only one solution and our good God provided it. The Outcome: A lasting relationship with our loving God. SUNDAY SCHOOL All adults are invited to join the "Believe" class in the Dining Room (note the move from the Fireside Room). The first 10 weeks will be led by Joe Moesta. Children s Sunday School has classes for all ages beginning at 9:30 am. The children and youth classes have great teachers, fun activities and great Bible studies...don t miss out! KOFFEE KLATCH Before Sunday School come join us for some refreshments and fellowship during Koffee Klatch each Sunday morning between 9:00-9:30 am. Applying It to Life: A testimony to consider: A truth to apply: Share your own story of salvation with someone this week. Key Idea: I believe a person comes into a right relationship with God by God s grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

DEVOTIONAL GUIDES The free daily devotional guides Our Daily Bread and Rejoice! for the months of September-November are now available for you to pick up in the foyer. Today is Grandparent s Day! The impetus for a National Grandparents Day originated with Marian McQuade ( ), a housewife in Fayette County, West Virginia. Her primary motivation was to champion the cause of lonely elderly in nursing homes. She also hoped to persuade grandchildren to tap the wisdom and heritage their grandparents could provide. President Jimmy Carter, in 1978, proclaimed that National Grandparents Day would be celebrated every year on the first Sunday after Labor Day. THIS WEEK at SMBC!
