Worship Focus: How can God be three persons at once? Jesus, seen as the Messiah and the Lamb of God, also called himself the Son of Man. But later He was understood as the divine embodiment of God s plan of redemption. We celebrated the coming of the Holy Spirit last week. What do we mean by a triune God? Church Clean-up Day: The annual clean-up day will be held on Monday, May 30 th beginning at 3:00 p.m. We will do the usual tidying up of gardens, outdoor spaces, windows and the sanctuary. 6 The W-K Lunch Bunch will meet next on Wednesday, June 1 st at 12:30 p.m. at the Whale and Ale Pub, 1120 Victoria Street North in Kitchener. All women are welcome to this monthly gathering. The Knotty Knotters will meet again on Tuesday, June 7 th at 1:00 p.m. in the basement to continue tying quilts. All are welcome to come and join them for the afternoon. YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT Are you between the ages of year of age? Do you enjoy the great outdoors? Come join the Christian Young Adults Outdoor Group! The purpose of this group is to meet and have fellowship with other believers while celebrating Him in an active outdoor environment. Our first group event will take place at Landon Hall in Cambridge (1 Landgon Drive, Cambridge). We will meet in the parking lot and go for a hike on May 28 at Noon. 8 Upcoming Musical Events: WIDER CHURCH AND COMMUNITY The DaCapo Chamber Choir presents INTO THE LIGHT, music of hope, renewal and peace together with the Exultate Chamber Singers of Toronto. The concert will take place on Saturday, May 28 th at 8:00 p.m. at St. John s Lutheran Church, 22 Willow Street in Waterloo. Tickets are available at by phone or at the door cash only. Jubilation Male Chorus will present their Spring Concert here at W-KUM Church on Sunday, June 5 th at 7:00 p.m. The concert will feature Christian music in various styles under the direction of Robert Shantz. We are a little over a month away from celebrating 70 years of Choral Excellence at Rockway Mennonite Collegiate! 9 Voices for Peace is a concert presented by the Global Mennonite Peacebuilding Conference and Festival featuring the premiere of Earth Peace composed by Carol Ann Weaver with Factory Arts String Quartet, plus music from the University of Waterloo Choir, conducted by Gerard Yun, and the Grebel Balinese Gamelan, directed by I Dewa Made Suparta. The concert will be held on Thursday, June 9 th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, available at Conrad Grebel University College s office or website. See the poster on Bulletin Board # 4. Yellow Bellies is an historical drama produced by Theatre of the Beat that highlights the experiences and public response to Mennonite Conscientious Objectors during WWII. It features verbatim interviews, fictionalized scenes, and live music by No Discernible Key. The play will be presented Saturday, June 11 th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 12 th at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $20, available at Conrad Grebel University College s office or website. See the poster on Bulletin Board # 4. Stories in Art from Iraqi Kurdistan is an exhibit that explores story-telling through art by people now living in Iraqi Kurdistan as a result of displacement. Deepen your awareness of the conflicts in Syria and Iraq and strengthen your understanding of the experiences of the refugees we are in the midst of welcoming. The exhibit was initiated by the Mennonite Heritage Centre Gallery and brought together by Kathy Moorhead Thiessen of Christian Peacemaker Teams Iraqi Kurdistan. You can view this exhibit in the Grebel Gallery, located in the MSCU Centre for Peace Advancement at Conrad Grebel University College, May 23-August 13, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.
