Everyone is welcome to come cheer for our boys and girls as they participate in this fun competition MISSIONS OPPORTUNITY Debbe and Craig Haley will be returning to Kalibo, Philippines in July. You can help them bless people there by collecting the following items to take: *Hotel soaps, shampoos, *Old calendars and greeting cards (for the pictures), *Odds & ends of scrapbooking paper, stickers, jewels, etc. You can put these items in the box in the foyer any time between now and July 15th. Want to use your hands to help? Each Monday night in March, you can stop by the Haley home at 264 Oak Ct. between 4 and 8 pm to help make simple posters using the translated Scripture verses. Come and go as you can, work for 30 minutes or a few hours...your choice. It's also a good time to bring supplies to donate. If you can use glue, you have all the skill you need to help! CHURCH KITCHEN GUIDELINES The Fest Committee has posted new Kitchen Guidelines in the church kitchen. Anyone who uses the church kitchen is asked to please follow these guidelines. 3 MORE NEWS THE SHAFTER SYMPHONY will be performing a number of works as part of the Shafter COLOURS Festival this evening at 6:30 pm at the Fred L. Starrh Performing Arts Center at Shafter High. Under the direction of our very own Stephen Penner, the concert will feature Aaron Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man", Jean Sibelius' "Finlandia", & Richard Strauss' "Symphony in F minor", op.12. Tickets are $20 adult, and $5 for student and can be purchased at the door. PERFORMANCE SMBC's Laruen and Elinor Franz and Emily McGuire are making their Shafter High School Drama Dept. debut in the role of dancing baby spiders in Charlotte's Web. Also in the play is Abby Eggleston in the role of Fern. Performance dates are Feb.27-Mar. 1. Please come and support our kids. It's going to be great! TRUTH MINISTRIES meets every Thursday evening from 7:00-8:30 pm in the church basement. Truth Ministries is a fellowship of men and women who have been afflicted either directly or indirectly by any life controlling issue, the abuse of any mood-altering substance or compulsive behavior. We believe that as we look to a loving God for help and put into practice those principles for living, which He has given in His Word, we shall find both the strength and freedom we need to live effective lives. To register go to VERENIKA MAKING FOR MCC It will soon be time again to make verenika for the 2014 West Coast Relief Sale and we need your help on Sat., March 8, at the Reedley M.B. Church at 8:00 am. We are going to be making 6,000 verenikas to sell at the sale (April 4 & 5). If you have never made verenika, no problem, there are plenty of helpful people willing to put you to work. We will provide lunch. So please consider coming to help, even if just for an hour or two. Because You Prayed: The Hume Lake (High School) and Hartland (College/ Singles) Camps were both life-changing weekends and the Shafter Colours has been another great event this year (Philippians 4:8)! Health Needs: Continue to pray for Randy Penner (heart valve), Robert Wohl (aorta surgery) and Neal Wood (severe anxiety issues) as they are cared for (Psalm 141:1-2). Church Life and Ministries: Remember the Deacon Board and Outreach Committee as they meet this week (Matthew 28:18-20). Community, National and International Concerns: Lift up the people of the Ukraine as protests have turned violent in recent days (Matthew 5:9). Whether it has to do with basic human needs such as food and rest, or perhaps something with our jobs, we need to know what we re doing. In the same way, there are certain truths we need to know about our faith in order to walk in knowledge.
