Spiritual heart disease is even worse, but through faith in Christ we can have our hearts renewed and receive eternal life! 3 Praise & Petitions March 11, 2018 Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me (John 14:1). Because You Prayed: The Men s Fellowship Breakfast was a great time of connecting and once again the Lord blessed our state with rain and snow (John 14:1)! Health Needs: Continue to pray for Alicia Beckett (lung transplant, thigh infection), Stacy Coyle (cancer treatments), Julie Scales (West Nile Virus rehab), Joe and Carol Hannah (dementia/stroke), Doug Peters (hospice), Pastor Madou (cracked lumbar vertebrae) and Judy Neufeld (knee replacement rehab) as they are cared for (Psalm 7:17). Church Life and Ministries: Lift up the Trustee and Worship/Music Boards as they meet this week and also Axiom Church in Peoria, AZ as they have their Grand Opening this morning (Romans 1:6-7). Community, National and International Concerns: Remember our national leaders and other world leaders working for a peaceful resolution to the tension with North Korea (Matthew 5:9). MB Mission: Stacy Kuhns in Peru Pray for: Stacy s ongoing leadership support for three churches Work with young women in the Casa Caminata discipleship house Ongoing rebuilding and aid for those affected by 2017 floods and mudslides (Matthew 25:40). WE WELCOME to our service this morning the participants of this year s Distinguished Young Women of Shafter Showcase, which will be held this Friday, March 16 at 7:00pm in the Starrh Performing Arts Center at Shafter High. There are 11 girls participating this year. They are Alizabeth Lopez, Karly Cleveland, Kekoa Witcher, Eva Lopez, Emma Miller, Jasmine Ortiz, Victoria Darling, Alyssa Perez, Ayadalin Martinez, Alexis Pickering, and Abigail Eggleston. Elizabeth Wilson, our current DYW, the Has Beens and the escorts will also be a part of the program. FOUR WEEKS OF PRAYER Thank you for your response for concentrated prayer for our church. For you that would like to come and pray for our church when others are here, these are the times: Mon. 10AM, 4:30PM; Tues. 4:30PM; Wed. 10:30AM, 11AM, 1:30PM, 6PM; FRI. 8AM, 9:30AM. The West Coast Mennonite Men s is coming to a city near you. You will enjoy the musical expression of faith and harmony from the 120-voice Mennonite Men s. A free-will offering will be taken. SMBC BACKPACK TRIP The Annual Backpack Trip with Pastor Pat has been set for Friday-Sunday, August 10-12, This is an easy to moderate hike in the Kaiser Wilderness above Fresno and is open to men, women and children. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited so reserve your spot with a $5 non-refundable deposit to the church office by July 1. Hot pizza and cold soda will be served to those helping. (A small donation by those coming would be appreciated to cover the cost of the pizza and soda.)
