As November heralds the dying of the landscape in many northern regions, the readings and liturgy call us to remember all who have died in Christ and whose baptism is complete. At the Lord's table we gather with the faithful of every time and place, trusting that the promises of God will be fulfilled and that all tears will be wiped away in the new Jerusalem. ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING - Our Annual Congregational Meeting will be held NEXT Sunday, November 9 th, between worship services 9:00 AM. The meeting will be held in Kuntz Hall. At least 50 members (in good standing) are needed for a quorum that morning. VETERANS/ARMED SERVICES NAMES are needed for the church service NEXT Sunday, November 9 th in recognition of Veterans Day. Thank you. BAKED GOODS NEEDED for our 40 th Anniversary Celebration which will be held on Sunday, November 16 th. Please see the sign-up sheet located on the bulletin board in the narthex. Also, please plan to attend this special service as we celebrate our church s anniversary. Pastor Fred Fisher will be our guest preacher and we look forward to welcoming him back to Hope Church. PROPOSED BUDGET is available on the table in the narthex. Please note that this budget has not yet been reviewed by the church council. They will review the budget tomorrow evening and submit the proposed budget to the congregation at the annual meeting next Sunday.

3 SENIOR FALL FEAST - On Saturday, November 15 th the Social Ministry Committee invites any senior citizen or homebound member in our congregation to our annual Fall Feast. We will begin with worship of Holy Communion at 11:30 AM, and then enjoy a dinner of turkey, filling, cranberry sauce and all the fixins. To conclude the day, there will be entertainment. The Feast will end at approximately 2:30 PM. A sign-up sheet is located on the bulletin board in the narthex. FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS FOR Consecration Sunday is a spiritualgrowth-oriented process, which is designed to enrich our biblical understanding of Christian stewardship. The experience concentrates on the need of the giver to give for his or her own spiritual development. If you were unable to attend Consecration Sunday, you should have received an Estimate of Giving Card in the mail. Could you help us to complete our Christian Stewardship campaign by returning it within one week once you have received it? If there are additional members of your family who will be making a commitment, please write their name, envelope number and commitment on the back of this Estimate of Giving card. Thanks for your help in bringing this fine spiritual experience to a good conclusion. SLEEPOVER AT THE ZOO - The youth group sleepover at the Lehigh Valley Zoo is this coming Friday, November 7 th - Saturday, November 8 th. The cost is $38 per person and is due today. If you are still interested but do not have your money today, please speak with Steph ASAP. We need a minimum of 15 people to attend. See the youth group board for details and the sign-up sheet. HOAGIES - The youth attending the gathering in Detroit next July will be selling hoagies this week. All orders are due by next Sunday, November 9 th. See a youth member or sign up on the youth board to order your Thomson hoagies. Delivery will be Thursday, November 13 th after 4:00pm. BELATED CARD SHOWER a card shower has been requested for Catherine Renner. Catherine turned 90 years young on October 10 th. Please send belated birthday wishes to her at 3784 Dogwood Road, Walnutport, PA PRAYER SHAWLS NEEDED the prayer shawl group that meets here at Hope Church are in need of prayer shawls. 4 HAMS NEEDED -- The Outreach Ministry Committee is asking for donations of boneless hams (easier to slice) for the Rescue Mission Dinner on November 19 th. We need approximately 19 pounds of ham. Please make arrangements to donate by November 12 th. Thank you. Questions? Contact LeAnn Chandler at INGATHERING watch next Sunday for our Ingathering Tree. Your NEW unwrapped gifts will need to be returned to the narthex by Sunday, November 30 th. Also, look for the mitten tree, your donations of knit or store bought hats, scarves, mittens and gloves can be placed right on the tree. A list of items needed was included in your latest edition of the Hope Home News. NATIVITY DISPLAY It hardly seems possible that it is time to think about our annual Nativity Display which will be held on Saturday, November 29 th from 10:00am-8:00pm and Sunday, November 30 th from 8:00am-5:00pm. The Evangelism Committee needs help to make the display a success. You can help by donating nativities, baked goods, snacks and beverages. Also, by setting up, cleaning up and helping during the display. Musical talent is needed also. Sign-up sheets for help are posted in the narthex, and remember to bring your nativities to share. CHURCH DECORATORS are needed to help with Advent and Christmas decorations. If you are interested in helping please sign up on the sheet posted in the narthex. A meeting to plan the decorating for this upcoming Christmas season will be held this Tuesday, November 4 th at 4:30pm. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. WOMEN OF FAITH the next meeting of the Women of Faith will be held on Monday, November 17 th at 6:30pm. The Women will be making Christmas cards to send to our homebound members. A short business meeting will be held after the cards are made. Please see the sign-up sheet located in the narthex. FILLING SALE Hope s Helping Hands will be having a filling sale. Delicious homemade potato filling will be sold (2 pounds for $5.00). Pre-order after worship on Sunday, November 9 th and 16 th. PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK The Congregational Council is encouraging all our members to grow in their spirituality through a regular Prayer Life. One way of doing this is by lifting up in prayer one family from our church each day of the year. Invite members of your family children, parents, grandparents, partners, close friends to join you on your faith journey through the synod s Youth, Young Adult and Family Ministry Team Family Faith Challenges. We challenge you to see God in celebrations. November 2-8: Read together Exodus 15:1-21 (Spark p. 84). The Israelites celebrated when they crossed the Red Sea. We celebrate when we accomplish things. Find or make your own instruments. Dance and sing praise to God.

FOOD BANK NEEDS we are in short supply of the following items for the Northampton Area Food Bank as well as our own food pantry here at Hope. 7 In the Lutheran Church, we believe and teach that we enter eternal life through the waters of Baptism. We also believe and teach that "saints" are all those who have been baptized into Christ Jesus, as well as those special persons whose life remains somewhat exemplary for others to follow. All Saints Sunday provides us a wonderful occasion in the course of the liturgical year to celebrate the communion of saints those who are living and walking "as yet by faith" as well as those who, though dead, have joined the Lord in triumph. Today at Hope, we celebrate the adults and children who have joined the communion of saints this past year through baptism as well as those who have died and rest in the Lord.
