Jesus offers living water, a sign of God s grace flowing from the waters of baptism. The early church used this gospel and those of the next two Sundays to deepen baptismal reflection during the final days of preparation before baptism at Easter. As we journey to the resurrection feast, Christ comes among us in word, bath, and meal offering us the life-giving water of God s mercy and forgiveness. CHURCH STAFF Pastor Rev. LENTEN SERVICES Wednesday Lenten services will be held at 11:00am and 7:00pm on Wednesdays, March 22, 29 and April 5. Our theme for this Wednesday, March 22 nd is The Authority of Scripture. SOUP DINNER & TABLE TALK DURING LENT - Wednesdays (March 22, 29 and April 5), join us as we gather for soup and table talk before midweek worship service. There s a signup sheet on the board if you re inclined to make soup to share. 6:00 to 7:00 PM. EASTER CANDY - The Youth Group are selling homemade Easter Candy for delivery on Sunday April 2 nd or 9 th. They are making Peanut Butter, Peanut Roll, Coconut Cream or a box of mixed Eggs. The cost is $10 a box. A signup sheet is posted on the Youth Group bulletin board in the narthex if you are interested in purchasing candy. WOMEN OF FAITH Our next meeting will be held on Monday, March 27 th at 6:00pm in Hanson Hall. We will welcome Rich Mullen to our meeting as he presents Safety Tips for Women. He will be teaching us how to protect ourselves and stay safe with some very easy tips to follow. These safety tips will also help teach us about general awareness of our surroundings in different situations in our lives. All are welcome to attend!

3 GIRL SCOUT SUNDAY we welcome all of the scouts to our 10:30am worship service this morning. Thank you to the scouts and their leaders for their participation today and their service and dedication all year. EVANGELISM NEWS Bible Study: The Thursday evening Bible study continues to meet weekly at 6:30pm. We have started a new study entitled PLEASING GOD. Everyone is welcome to join this study at any time. We meet in the 2 nd grade classroom and our study is usually about an hour in duration. Evangelism Meeting: Second Thursday (note change) of each month at 6:00pm. New members and new ideas for this committee are always welcome. HOPE S HELPING HANDS - It is crab patty time again for Hope's Helping Hands just in time for Lent and those who are looking for a meat alternative for meals! We are selling crab patties and lobster bisque soup after church services on Sundays, March 19 th and March 26 th. Crab patties are 6 oz. and can be bought either breaded or unbreaded for $5.00 each. The lobster bisque soup comes in a 16 oz. container and sells for $4.00. We had great feedback on the lobster bisque soup that we offered for the first time in October. Everything is made and packaged by Todd's Island Seafood in Allentown. See any Hope's Helping Hands member to order or you can call Leslie Daniel at if you miss us at church. Orders will be ready for pick-up on Sunday, April 2 nd from 9:00amto 12:00pm in the Kuntz Hall kitchen. Thanks to everyone for supporting our fundraisers throughout the year. 4 THRIVENT AND MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT PLANS On Tuesday, April 4 th beginning at 8:00am, our Thrivent representative, Kristen Edelman-Weiner, will be here to meet with members of the congregation who wish to compare their supplemental Medicare plans with Thrivent rates or, if they do not have a supplemental plan, Thrivent can guide them to a plan best suited to their individual needs. Thrivent is a preferred provider in Pennsylvania. If you are interested, please sign up at your preferred time on the sheet in the Narthex. If you are unable to meet with her on that day, you can schedule a private appointment with her. Her phone number is SYNOD DELEGATES NEEDED - A male and female delegate are needed to attend the Synod Assembly on Friday, June 2 nd and Saturday, June 3 rd at the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos. The church will cover your expenses. If interested, please speak to Pastor Jami as soon as possible. Thank you! VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL coming July 10 14, Hero Central. Your children will enjoy an interactive, energizing, Bible-based good time as they discover their strength in God. They will become Super Heroes and explore how to serve God and God s mission for their lives. Classes will be held from 9:00 AM until noon, with a closing program on Friday, July 14@ 7 pm. Ages include 3 yr. olds (potty trained) to children completing 6th grade in June Registrations can be made at vbs.hopecherryville.org or by completing a registration form located in the narthex. A t shirt is provided for each student registering by Sunday, June 18th. Lots of help will be needed so please consider volunteering. A staff nursery is provided for volunteers if you have younger children who are not old enough to attend. Volunteers need to register as well. So come soar yourself into God s unstoppable love. PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK The Congregational Council is encouraging all our members to grow in their spirituality through a regular Prayer Life. One way of doing this is by lifting up in prayer one family from our church each day of the year. ALLENTOWN RESCUE MISSION The Rescue Mission provides rescue, rehabilitation and restoration for homeless men in crisis through Christcentered programs based on accountability and compassion. They are in desperate need of men s underwear (sizes medium through 3XL). If you can help by donating NEW underwear for the men at the Rescue Mission, please place them in the box located in the narthex. PLEASE NOTE we ask that no beverages are brought into the church.
