Yet none of this power is unilateral; it all must be received by faith. Jesus asks his disciples to go out without money or supplies, so that they will be dependent on how others receive them. When we are sent from the assembly to witness and to heal, we are asked to be vulnerable, to be dependent on the reception of others. The Spirit always operates in the between: between Jesus and his Abba, between Jesus and us, between you and me, between us and those to whom we are sent. CHURCH STAFF Pastor Rev. In Celebration of the 3 rd Wedding Anniversary of Jason and Marie Rice, Our Love to you both, Mom and Dad. SUMMER HYMN SING your favorite hymns will be sung for 15 minutes before each service. In order to accommodate as many requests as possible, we will only sing the first two (2) stanzas of each hymn requested. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS Hope Church offers scholarship money to full-time college students. If you are attending your second year (or higher) you may submit an application to the church office. Applications are due by Sunday, July 19 th. Applications are available on our website at hopecherryville.org or by calling the church office at VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL For those of you who have registered; VBS begins tomorrow, Monday, July 6 th through Friday, July 10 th from 9:00am to 12:00Noon. Powdered drink mixes and snacks are needed for Bible School. Please drop them in the narthex marked VBS. The closing program will be held on Friday, July 10 th at 7:00pm. THANK YOU to all of our volunteers, we couldn t have Bible School without you! CHURCH OFFICE Summer office hours begin TOMORROW, Monday, July 6 th through the week of August 31 st. The church office will be open from 9:00am 3:00pm from Monday through Friday. When Jane is out of the office, it will be staffed by our office volunteers and Nina Weiss, our Communications Specialist.

3 GRACEDALE VISIT Social Ministry Committee will be going to Gracedale NEXT Sunday, July 12 th to help with their worship service. We will leave Hope Church at 9:00am. All are welcome to attend. KNOEBELS TRIP SIGN UP NOW for Saturday August 1, We have a pavilion reserved for you at Knoebels Amusement Park and Picnic Grove in Elysburg, PA. We have the pavilion from 10:00 AM 10:00 PM. The signup sheet is posted on the bulletin board in the narthex! RISE UP TOGETHER WITH OUR YOUTH The youth who are attending the National Youth Gathering in July are coming to the home stretch with their fundraising efforts. While we are nearing our goal we are not there yet. Our last fundraiser is one in which we hope everyone who wants to can have a part. Here s how it will work.. On the youth bulletin board will be 100 envelopes numbered 1 through 100. Those numbers represent a dollar amount. We encourage people who are interested in supporting our youth to take one of those envelopes; place in it the amount listed on the front along with your name, address and phone number; and place it in an offering plate or return it to the church office. As a thank you for supporting us here s what you will receive in return The opportunity to help create a life-changing moment for our young people A personal post-card from our youth while they are at the gathering in July An invitation to a post-trip luncheon to thank you for supporting us and giving you the chance to hear first hand what our young people witnessed and what it means in their lives The knowledge that through your generosity our youth will grow in faith, find joy in serving and share God s love beyond the walls of our church What a wonderful way to connect with our young people and make a difference in so many lives! WOMEN OF FAITH our July meeting will be a summer fun evening, to be held on TUESDAY, July 21 st at 6:00pm. We will be going to Leslie Daniel s house for a pool party/picnic. If you wish to make some jewelry, we will have all of our leftover supplies available from our jewelry making night for you to use and make yourself a new treasure to take home. We will also be finalizing plans for the next few month s meetings. ALL are welcome to attend. Please sign up on the sheet located on the bulletin board in the narthex. 4 CHURCH FAMILY PICNIC the Hope Church family picnic will be held at Indian Trail Park on Sunday, July 19, 2015 beginning at 12 noon. Please bring a covered dish to share; we are planning to eat lunch at approximately 12:30pm. There will be lots of good food to sample. Our Evangelism committee will supply hot dogs, burgers, rolls and beverages. Also please bring a prize for bingo and/or a prize to be won in the "cake" walk (although this prize can be something other than a cake). There will be lots of food, games, fun and fellowship for all ages. If weather permits; we plan to include some water games for our younger ones to enjoy..so mark your calendars, get your lawn chair ready and come and have an enjoyable afternoon with your church family. Everyone is welcome and we hope you will join in the fun. We will be using the second pavilion. See the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the narthex area. SENIOR BIRTHDAY PARTY - On Saturday, August 8 th, there will be a Birthday Party for any senior member of Hope Church. The party/picnic will begin at 11:30am in Kuntz Hall. There will be food, fellowship and entertainment. Mark your calendars now. Watch for more information and a sign-up sheet soon! TEACHER S AIDE - Hope Lutheran Nursery School has a part time Teacher's Aide position open for the school year. Applications are available in the Nursery School Mailbox outside the Main Office of the church. Completed applications are due by TOMORROW, July 6 th and can be placed in the envelope in the Nursery School Mailbox. One way of doing this is by lifting up in prayer one family from our church each day of the year. 5 HOPE CHURCH S YARD SALE The yard sale at Hope Church will be held on Friday, September 4 th from 8:00am to 2:00pm and Saturday, September 5 th from 8:00am to 1:00pm. Start cleaning those basements, garages and attics and get your items ready for our annual yard sale. Watch future bulletins and newsletters for more information.
