SUMMER HYMN SING your favorite hymns will be sung for 15 minutes before each service. Anything goes! Our hymnal has a lot of hymns to choose from, so pick your favorites and we will sing them. In order to accommodate as many requests as possible, we will only sing the first two (2) stanzas of each hymn requested. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS this morning the following students have applied for and are receiving the first half of their scholarship money. MARK YOUR CALENDARS for Rally Day to be held on Sunday, September 11 th! HOPE CHURCH S YARD SALE The yard sale at Hope Church will be held on Friday, September 2 nd and Saturday, September 3 rd. Continue cleaning those basements, garages and attics and get your items ready for our annual yard sale. The storage containers have arrived! You can start bringing your items and drop them in the open container located along the Route 248 side of the church. Bring items from 7:00am 9:00pm. Please see the flyer on the bulletin board for items that will not be taken and for more information. SHRIMP BOIL The Hope s Helping Hands mission team is holding the 2 nd annual shrimp boil on Saturday, August 20 th from 4:00-6:30pm in Kuntz Hall (eat in or take out). Dinners are $15.00 each and include ½ lb. of shrimp, ¼ lb. of sausage, red potatoes, corn on the cob, salad, roll and dessert. Orders will be taken following church worship services on August 7 th and August 14 th or by calling Leslie Daniel at Also, volunteers are needed to make desserts for the shrimp boil. Please call Leslie if you can help bake! CENTERING ON PRAYER has begun again! Pastor Brian will continue his centering on prayer sessions the first and third Mondays at 6:00pm and the first and third Wednesdays at 2:00pm of each month. The classes will be using a new book, Richard Rohr s Everything Belongs. (copies are $10.00 each). All are welcome to join at any time. Speak to Pastor Brian with any questions.

4 WOMEN OF FAITH will be painting on canvas at their summer picnic on Wednesday, August 17 th at 6:00pm. Surprise yourself with a beautiful picture you paint yourself in about two hours! There will be a fee to do a painting, which will include all of the supplies you need. The cost (no more than $20.00) will be determined by the number of people who sign up; which is limited to 20. Sign up today on the sheet located on the bulletin board in the narthex. WELLNESS TEAM will be available after both worship services on Sunday, August 14 th for blood pressure screenings. Visit the conference room for your screening. CONFIRMATION ORIENTATION will be held on Sunday, August 28 th at 10:45am for both Level I and Level II confirmands. Parents and students should plan on attending this very important meeting where schedules and expectations will be shared for the upcoming confirmation year. The meeting will be held in the sanctuary. Questions, please call the church office at DiscoveRING BELLS - This is a 5 week course designed to teach both the basics of ringing handbells and an introduction to reading music. It will be held on Wednesdays Sept. 7, 14, 21, 28, and Oct. 5. Classes are held in Hope s sanctuary from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. More information is on the flyer on the bulletin board.
