ABOUT THE LORD S SUPPER: Our congregation is a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, a family of congregations who pledge themselves to teach and to believe the same doctrines. We invite those persons who are members in good standing of a congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or of a church in fellowship with the LCMS to receive the sacrament. Register on line at Hospital Visits If any of our members are in the hospital and would like a visit from the pastor, please contact the church office. Lutheran Television for Shut-Ins can be seen each Sunday on cable channel 138 at 11:30am or on Direct TV channel 377 at 10:30am. Summer Office Hours - The church office will be 10:00am to 2:00pm Monday through Friday; the School Office will be 8:00am to 10:00am Monday through Thursday. Stewardship Corner What do you fear? War? Disease? Terrorists? Accident or loss of life? Why should the Christian fear? Our Lord knows our fears. Paul wrote, I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38, 39). Since God has given us His very own Son, He will also equip us to overcome our anxieties so that we can be about His business.

5 LEARN BY HEART THE FAMILY ALTAR The families of St. John are encouraged to learn these words from the Small Catechism by heart this week: The Lord s Prayer Introduction Our Father who art in heaven. What does this mean? With these words God tenderly invites us to believe that He is our true Father and that we are His true children, so that with all boldness and confidence we may ask Him as dear children ask their dear father. Bible Passage: Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. James 5:16 Psalm 119:
