Is the kingdom of your soul divided? We are often confronted with choices that appear to be good but in essence are not. We struggle with choosing good over evil and right from wrong. Conflicts often exist within, and we walk through life with a divided heart. We realize what is needed to live with God but find ourselves doing the exact opposite. As we gather with our brothers and sisters and seek God's gift of Christ in the Eucharist, may we not only be united with one another in faith but united with God within. All conflicts and divisions can cease, and we can act with a focused, strong, and determined heart. Please remember in your prayers the souls of parishioners Maria Turco and Barbara Angelo who passed away last week as well as the soul of Walter James Samosky, brother of Parishioner Stella Samosky, who recently passed away. May God grant them eternal rest and peace. The Sanctuary Candle in is burning this week in celebration of Joe & Joy Hagofsky 60th Wedding Anniversary by Joe, Kathy & Carolyn. The Tabernacle Candle in is burning this week in honor of Father Fid Levri, who is celebrating his 51st Year of Priesthood by Father Doug & Parish Family. Congratulations to Jacob & Margaret (Boylan) Konkolics who were married in on Saturday, June 2. May God bless their life together. 3 June 10, 2018 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, St. Anthony of Padua is one of the most popular saints in the Church. His story of coming from a rich family, but rejecting that to be poor and to be a Franciscan is a story of hope and trust. Many of us call upon him to help us bring Jesus into the world. His feast is Wednesday, June 13 and Mass will be celebrated in at 7:00 p.m. St. Anthony of Padua, pray for us! In the May 17 edition of The Accent, the priests and members of the consecrated life were recognized for their years of service. Father James F. Bump, who was a parochial vicar in from is celebrating 40 years of service. Father Bill Kiel, who was pastor in from , is celebrating 25 years of service. Sister Mary Margaret (John Mark) Doorley, who was a teacher at the former St. Mary School is celebrating 60 years of faithful service. May God bless them now and always. This week in, High Seas Expedition Vacation Bible School is underway. Thanks to all who are helping to pass on the faith to our children and have a lot of fun! The Diocesan Lenten Appeal is coming to a close. Because of our parishioners in both parishes, we have done very well. In, we have received $62,285 which gives us $15, to keep and use for our boiler projects. In, we have received $32,217 which gives us $10, to keep and use for our door project. Thank you to everyone who responded! God bless you. Finally, the clergy appointments for our diocese have been made. Our partner parishes will receive a new parochial vicar sometime in November. Father Alan will help me in providing pastoral care until the new priest comes. I ask you to pray for me and Father Alan and know that your prayers and support are appreciated. St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Parish Goal: $60, Diocesan Goal: $46, Total Pledged: $62, Percentage of Parish Goal: 104% Number of Pledges: 231 Parishioner Participation: 32% Thanks to the generosity of 231 parish families, we have reached our parish goal of $60,000 and at least $15, will be returned to our parish and used towards replacing aging and inefficient boilers at St. Mary Parish Center and the Rectory. St. Mary, Mother of God Parish, Parish Goal: $28, Diocesan Goal: $21, Total Pledged: $32, Percentage of Parish Goal: 115% Number of Pledges: 148 Parishioner Participation: 37% Thanks to the generosity of 148 parish families, we have reached our parish goal of $28,000 and at least $10, will be returned to our parish and used towards purchasing new front doors for the church.

June 11 ~ June 15 to 12 Noon St. Mary Parish Hall Parents, grandparents and friends are invited to join us on Friday, June 15, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Parish Hall for a special musical presentation performed by children attending this year s VBS. Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Patricia #998 June Meeting The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Patricia #998 will be meeting on Tuesday, June 19, at 7:00 p.m. in St. Mary Parish Hall. We will hold an installation of our new officers, Regent Ann Nemec, Vice Regent - Roseann Rybicki, Recording Secretary - Corina Rizzo, Financial Secretary - Amy Swast, and Treasurer - Mary Ann Kunkle. Marsteller, Superintendent for Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Greensburg and the members of the Board of Trust Administrators that he has decided not to return as principal of Divine Redeemer School in Ford City. Mr. Talarico is grateful for the opportunity to serve the school and the children for the past year. His many years of Catholic education have been very fulfilling and he hopes to return to Catholic ministry in the future. Dr. Marsteller and the members of the Board of Trust Administrators thank him for his service and wish him well in the future. At this time, we are accepting applications for this position. Please Help The Friendship Circle needs your assistance in making patchwork quilts for the homeless veterans at Tomorrow s Hope located in Coalport, Clearfield County. Several of our members are unable to help this year with the sewing. No sewing experience requirements are necessary to help with this project. Since we honor & remember our veterans in the month of May, our hope is that you can serve them by helping in this special project.
