2 CALL to WORSHIP Be present today, O God, in a special way! P God has declared, You are my treasured possession. C God has chosen us, we are his. P We are tempted to think of ourselves as our own possessions; C Tempted to imagine that our time, talents and treasures were made by us, for us, to satisfy us. P We are here to remember in word and deed: we are not our own. C That the God who gave us our life calls upon us to use it for a holy and blessed purpose. Brief silence for reflection. P God, Father in Heaven, C bring us back to you today. Through prayer, song, meditation and holy words, fill us your Holy Spirit. Amen INVOCATION The Name of God, Father in Heaven, is lifted up in glory. P We are God s people, the sheep of God s pasture; We are God s little ones, children of the Father in heaven; We are God s chosen few, blessed to be servants of all; We are God s saints called out for sacred purpose. C We are God s people and God is here with us! Come, let us worship God with all our heart, mind and strength. ACT of CONFESSION and ASSURANCE of PARDON We confess trusting that God forgives and renews. Abuse Awareness Training St. Peter s is holding an Abuse Awareness Training that s required to be completed for our liability insurance coverage. All employees, Sunday School Teachers, Board Members and Volunteers who work with children need to have this training. A group training session will be held NEXT Sunday, August 26th at 6:30 pm at the church. There is a sign-up sheet on the table in the church parlor. Please bring a laptop or device that can access the online video and training. There is an online quiz which must be completed at the end of the training. You are welcome to bring snacks and beverages to the training session. Or if wish, you may do the training from your humble abode in your jammies ~ let Kim Kistler or Louise Frantz know if you need the link in order to accomplish the training. CONFIRMATION CLASS A new Confirmation Class will be forming in the Fall. All youth entering the 7th grade or older are eligible to join the class.
