3 INFANT BAPTISMS The Sacrament is celebrated on Sunday at 1:15 PM. by appointment only. A Pre-Baptism Catechetical Session is required for parents. Godparents (Sponsors) must be practicing Catholics and at least 14 years of age. A practicing non-catholic Christian may act as a witness along with a Catholic Sponsor. RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS We welcome all unbaptized individuals, friends, family members and neighbors who are not Roman Catholic Christians or those individuals within the Catholic Tradition who may have never received the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist or Confirmation to participate in our parish program for adult Christian Initiation at this time. This program is also ideal for baptized Christians of other Christian denominations who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith. If you know of someone who may wish to experience the richness of our Catholic Faith and who desires to participate fully in the sacramental life of the Church, please contact Barbara Bunag at MATRIMONY The Sacrament of Matrimony requires an extensive period of preparation. Contact must be made with Parish Center one year in advance. MINISTRY TO THE SICK The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and the anointing of the sick is available to our parish sick and shut-ins upon request. Please inform the parish concerning the needs of the sick by calling the Parish Office. If any member of the parish is hospitalized, please notify the Parish Office immediately so that a member of the Pastoral Staff may visit. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE MEMBERS OF OUR PARISH FAMILY WHO ARE SICK AS WELL AS THOSE MEMBERS WHO ARE SERVING IN THE ARMED FORCES Dear Brothers and Sisters, In this Sunday s Gospel, we are made aware of the love between the Father and the Son and that we are called by our Baptism into an intimate, loving relationship with God by the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. This love overflows into our lives with others and builds up the Body of Christ. This week we started our Bible Study on the letters of Saint Paul. We began the series with the First Letter of Saint Paul to the Thessalonians. About 50 people were in attendance in the St. Vincent de Paul Room in the Parish Center. This week we will study the letter to the Galatians and I will move the venue to the alcove of the Church. Please contact Colleen Salvas at csalvas@rwjf.org if you are planning on attending. Work has been completed on the Pre-K playground and our students are enjoying being outside on these beautiful days. The playground is a Gift from Bobby and Lisa Hopkins in memory of their daughter, Ariella. We will have a formal dedication and blessing soon. In Christ, Fr. Thomas 2018 Bishop s Annual Appeal Lighting a Fire in the Heart of Our World Final Stage - Still Time to Donate Thank you to all who have supported the 2018 Bishop s Annual Appeal. I wish you a peaceful and blessed week and thank you for your support as we continue to live our mission: To love, educate, and inspire our children to live the teachings of Jesus Christ. God bless you, Mrs. Ann Wierzbicki, R.N., M.A.E./Ed.S. Principal St Vincent de Paul society has a client who is looking for a full size bed and either a twin bed or futon. Anyone who may be able to help can contact me at The St. Vincent de Paul Society is very grateful for the generous food, monetary, and gi dona ons we have received from our parishioners and parishioners of Immaculate Concep on Parish. In March, we delivered 89 bags of food and 7 bo les of detergent to 10 different families. Thank you so much for your generosity! Spirit of St. Vincent In other words, amid the thicket of precepts and prescrip ons, Jesus clears a way to seeing two faces, that of the Father and that of our brother. He does not give us two more formulas or two more commands. He gives us two faces, or be er yet, one alone: the face of God reflected in so many other faces. For in every one of our brothers and sisters, especially the least, the most vulnerable, the defenseless and those in need, God s very image is found. Indeed, with the scraps of this frail humanity, the Lord will shape his final work of art. For what endures, what has value in life, what riches do not disappear? Surely these two: the Lord and our neighbor. These two riches do not disappear! (Pope Francis, Apostolic Exhorta on: Gaudete et Exsultate, 2018, #61) About the Society Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need.
