3 INFANT BAPTISMS The Sacrament is celebrated on Sunday at 1:15 PM. by appointment only. A Pre-Baptism Catechetical Session is required for parents. Godparents (Sponsors) must be practicing Catholics and at least 14 years of age. A practicing non-catholic Christian may act as a witness along with a Catholic Sponsor. RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS We welcome all unbaptized individuals, friends, family members and neighbors who are not Roman Catholic Christians or those individuals within the Catholic Tradition who may have never received the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist or Confirmation to participate in our parish program for adult Christian Initiation at this time. This program is also ideal for baptized Christians of other Christian denominations who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith. If you know of someone who may wish to experience the richness of our Catholic Faith and who desires to participate fully in the sacramental life of the Church, please contact Barbara Bunag at MATRIMONY The Sacrament of Matrimony requires an extensive period of preparation. Contact must be made with Parish Center one year in advance. MINISTRY TO THE SICK The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and the anointing of the sick is available to our parish sick and shut-ins upon request. Please inform the parish concerning the needs of the sick by calling the Parish Office. If any member of the parish is hospitalized, please notify the Parish Office immediately so that a member of the Pastoral Staff may visit. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE MEMBERS OF OUR PARISH FAMILY WHO ARE SICK AS WELL AS THOSE MEMBERS WHO ARE SERVING IN THE ARMED FORCES Dear Brothers and Sisters, Today, October 7 th is the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Pope Francis has requested that all Catholics pray the Rosary throughout the month of October for the renewal of the Church. In the midst of the present crisis engulfing the Church, Catholics are called to pray and fast that we would be delivered from evil. Our Holy Father has also requested that the prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel be prayed after all masses. Prayer cards with the prayer have been placed in the front cover of the hymnals and extra prayer cards are on the table in the narthex. Saint Michael the Archangel, pray for us. This Saturday, October 13 th, is our annual Rosary Rally. We will gather at noon on the front lawn of the Church by the statue of Saint Joseph. The Rosary of Our Lady will be prayed for peace in the world. All parishioners are encouraged to attend. In Christ, Fr. Orders may still come in until the end of the week. Entertainment Books will be coming home this week. Thank you for all you do to support our students. Our first grade students joyfully received their eighth grade buddies as this wonderful tradition continues. Scholastic Book Fair will take place October 9, 10, and 11. Teachers will inform students of the day they will attend. Basket Raffle tickets will go on sale this upcoming week. Please see the communication envelope for important information about class baskets and volunteering for our biggest fundraiser. Spirit Wear is now available for purchase. Please see the website for details. Winter uniforms begin October 15. Please be sure to have registered in Power School if you have not done so. The marking period closes November 9. Also, please register in Honeywell Instant Alert if you have not done so. Author Katie DiCamillo will be appearing at the Princeton Barnes and Noble on Friday, October 19 at 7:00 pm. She is a wonderful storyteller and she will follow her presentation with book signings. She has written many wonderful books including The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and Because of Winn Dixie. I wish you a blessed week. We are in DESPERATE need of more men to fill out our tenor and bass sections. All men from high school freshman through adult are eligible to join us. Last year we collected nearly $7000 so we are aiming at surpassing that goal. We will distribute the bottles on the weekend of October 7 and 8th. We will only collect the bottles on 2 weekends.
