3 INFANT BAPTISMS The Sacrament is celebrated on Sunday at 1:15 PM. by appointment only. A Pre-Baptism Catechetical Session is required for parents. Godparents (Sponsors) must be practicing Catholics and at least 14 years of age. A practicing non-catholic Christian may act as a witness along with a Catholic Sponsor. RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS We welcome all unbaptized individuals, friends, family members and neighbors who are not Roman Catholic Christians or those individuals within the Catholic Tradition who may have never received the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist or Confirmation to participate in our parish program for adult Christian Initiation at this time. This program is also ideal for baptized Christians of other Christian denominations who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith. If you know of someone who may wish to experience the richness of our Catholic Faith and who desires to participate fully in the sacramental life of the Church, please contact Barbara Bunag at MATRIMONY The Sacrament of Matrimony requires an extensive period of preparation. Contact must be made with Parish Center one year in advance. MINISTRY TO THE SICK The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and the anointing of the sick is available to our parish sick and shut-ins upon request. Please inform the parish concerning the needs of the sick by calling the Parish Office. If any member of the parish is hospitalized, please notify the Parish Office immediately so that a member of the Pastoral Staff may visit. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE MEMBERS OF OUR PARISH FAMILY WHO ARE SICK AS WELL AS THOSE MEMBERS WHO ARE SERVING IN THE ARMED FORCES Dear Brothers and Sisters, This Thursday, May 25 th is Ascension Day, the fortieth day of Easter. On this day the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven and took His seat at the right hand of God the Father, the Almighty. The early community in Jerusalem spent the next nine days after the Ascension awaiting the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit of God s love and mercy that fills the community of the Church with countless gifts and blessings. As baptized Christians we pray in the power of the Holy Spirit and we are consecrated people, sacred to God. This year we have been preparing 103 of our young men and women to receive the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please pray for them that they will be open to the Grace of the sacrament and be faithful disciples of the Lord. Please see the bulletin for the schedule of Ascension Thursday Masses. In Christ, Fr. I would like to thank Mrs. Fernandez for a successful Race for Education, Mrs. Grosso for hosting Clothing and Toy Drive, and Mrs. McAndrew and Mrs. Ebert for a wonderful night of fun! Thank you for your generous support of the Schmidt Family. Congratulations, Daniel Novoselov, a fourth grade student who was chosen to participate in the annual Princeton Japanese Speech Contest at Princeton University! Fox 5 News and Linda Schmidt came for a second time to our school to film Tyler and the VGo robot, and also to interview our seventh grade students. I am proud to say that our students were complimented for their cooperation, intelligence, and manners. Additionally, our school was described as a wonderful educational environment. I will let you know when this will air on Channel 5. Please support our Drama Club as they perform Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on Saturday evening at 7:00 pm. Immaculate Conception Carnival The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Spotswood, NJ is hosting its annual Carnival from June 13 through June 17, The Carnival will be held on the Church grounds, which is located at 23 Manalapan Road, Spotswood, NJ.
