Our relationship with Jesus Christ gives us the power to rise again. When we turn to God with a repentant heart, he always helps us. Friday Supreme Act of Love The supreme act of love in which Jesus died, that which we remember each time we celebrate the Eucharist, actually brings us into an intimacy with him at a most profound level. There is no conceivable way to deepen our friendship, our knowledge and love of Jesus, and his love for us, than through the celebration of the most holy Eucharist. Saturday Our Earthly Mission Deep down, we all have a sense that we were put on earth for something. We have a mission and our hearts yearn to discern what that mission is. Often we come close, but we sense what we ve found isn t quite the whole thing or the real thing. Not to fret, because if our hearts are pure, we ll be led to it. It is more hurtful when it comes from those closest to us. We must not let this kind of opposition interfere with our quest for holiness. Rather, we have to refrain from judging these critics (we can t see their whole heart), and keep our focus on loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and loving our neighbor as ourselves. Romans 10:1 My brothers and sisters in Christ, The Holy Season of Lent begins will begin in a little over two weeks as ashes are placed on our foreheads, reminding us again of our weakness and mortality. It s the Church s time each year to focus on the battle against satan and sin and the need to cling to the Lord s mercy and grace.
