2 The Circle Completed The Ascension of the Lord Will the circle be unbroken By and by Lord, by and by. There's a better home awaiting In the sky Lord, in the sky ~ Traditional American "When he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight." Acts 1: 9 There s a better home awaiting in the sky, Lord, in the sky. Well, considering how we ve treated this home where we presently live, I m looking forward to seeing Heaven! I wonder if, someday, way off in the future, we will start treating the Earth with a bit more love and care? Maybe that s part of the reason why Jesus has not returned to establish His kingdom on Earth; we haven t created a place down here where He would like to live! There is an amazing circular story to ponder on this day, the day that He ascended into Heaven to sit at His Father s right hand in a throne of glory. At the appointed time and place, He descended from Heaven to be incarnate in the human womb of Mary, experience birth as a baby, and grow through childhood and adolescence into a man. He lived thirty-some years, experienced a horrendous death and a miraculous resurrection and then returned to where He began and is now pleading for us at the right hand of His Father. Yes, they re doing their best in trying to destroy Your Earth, but, in some places, they re starting to mend their ways, and show it a bit more love and care! Please, Abba, give them some more time, even just another day! I know they re trying to change! Please! I, for one, am grateful that we have an Advocate on our side, pleading for our continued existence. We have not been very good stewards of this precious planet, and we have been given a parable about what happens to the bad stewards! I hope we can awaken, soon, and mend our ways! Paul J. Pentecost - May The main sign of Pentecost in the West is the color red. It symbolizes joy and the fire of the Holy Spirit. Priests or ministers, and choirs wear red vestments, and in modern times, the custom has extended to the lay people of the congregation wearing red clothing in celebration as well. Plan on wearing red to Mass next weekend! Brief Parish Survey At the suggestion of the parish Liturgy Board, Fr. Matt has agreed to a brief, three question parish survey: What weekend Mass(es) do you normally attend, what ZIP code do you or your family reside in, and how old (in broad, generational swathes) are you? If you didn't get to fill in a survey you can do it next weekend at Mass or you can go to Survey Monkey at: Feast of Corpus Christi - June 2 - June 3 Beginning at 6pm on June 2 through 8am on June 3, we will continue our tradition of an all-night adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Albert the Great Church. It would be a wonderful time of grace if you could spend at least one hour with our Lord on this great feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. This is our 3rd cycle and so far our parish has donated 259 pairs of glasses and 2 pairs of contacts. The program provides eyeglasses to those in need both in the USA and around the world. They especially need eyeglasses for children. They take corrective lenses, sun glasses, and damaged glasses that have lenses or frames that can be reused. Thank you again to all those who donated glasses that can be up cycled! Donation boxes remain in the vestibules of all the church sites.
