Killebrew *Affirmation of Faith WE RESPOND TO GOD S WORD Leader: Be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:26) People: I am not conformed to this world, but I am continually transformed by renewing of my mind, that I may prove what is the good, and acceptable, and the perfect will of God. Leader: The LORD will perfect that which concerns me: thy mercy, O LORD, endures for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. (Psalm 138:8) People: I thank you Lord that you perfect that which concerns me, your mercy O Lord endures forever. 8 Offering God has given us a good inheritance in a land flowing with milk and honey, and we cannot forget all the benefits we have received from God s hand. God s investment in us bears good fruit and we respond to the physical and spiritual needs in our world with our time and efforts and with gifts that extend beyond our personal reach. Let us give with joy! Parents are invited to sign-up in the nursery to come in and do an activity such as a song, read a book, or other activity with the older nursery children.

11 Sunday School: Last week in Sunday School we discussed Jesus and how he loves the little children. This week we will discuss Jesus riding through the Palms. We will also make a craft to help us remember his journey. Please ask your children about what we discussed in Sunday School We are in need of Sunday School Helpers. Please see Mrs. Kolecki if you would like to help. All dates are open to help the children with a craft. Please sign up to help with Sunday School. The youth will be discussing topics for Youth Sunday the next 2 weeks. Please come to youth group and bring your ideas. This week we will decide why we are here as a youth group and what our mission is. Please sign up to bring snack and as a parent helper through the link for Sign Up Genius that was ed to all parents. 13 The choir is rehearsing on Sundays now! To help make it easier for new people to join, we are rehearsing from 9-10 am before the service. You do not need to read music to be a part, only a love of singing Gods Word! In addition, a singing technique class will be run on Thursdays in the Bell room from 7:30 to 8:30. This class is open to anyone and you do not need to belong to the choir. Please consider being a part of our great music tradition at CPC! The Deacon's are asking for the your assistance. As you know, the homeless men from the IHOC program will be here next month for two weeks and we are in need of some non-perishable food items, laundry items, a large teapot, and a toaster. 14 Last year CPC participated in It Takes A Village: Feed My Starving Children at First Presbyterian Church in Haddonfield. CPC contributed money and volunteers to pack on April 12th, Over 800 other volunteers packed 163,000 meals! Pretty amazing! This year the goal is 225,000 meals. So many children benefit from this food, and we can all be part of the effort to help them. So set aside two dates to help. This is a very worthy charity that you can help make a difference doing and/or contributing to within the next two months. Before we can pack this coming April, money must be raised to purchase the meals ingredients. The largest fundraiser is a Messiah Sing-Along to which you are cordially invited. Join singers, music lovers, and friends who just love to hum along in a memorable, musical afternoon at the 3rd annual Feed My Starving Children Messiah Sing-Along hosted by First Presbyterian Church in Haddonfield on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Sing-Along participants will join soloists Kelly Leibensperger, Maren Montalbano, Perry Brisbon, and Justin Hopkins and be accompanied by an all-star orchestra of musicians from ensembles including the Philly Pops and the Curtis Institute of Music. Each Messiah Sing-Along participant will play a role in the fight against hunger. The $20 registration fee covers the cost of 90 meals to be packed at the Feed My Starving Children packing event on April Register now at For more information, please contact Karen Mazak at The second date is, of course, April 18. 15 Second Chance Outreach Services along with Charles Sumner School in Camden would like to thank the congregation of Collingswood Presbyterian Church for your donation of children s coats, hats and gloves. Much of the population of the school are children of immigrants. Their parents work the farms in warm weather areas. As they return from the harvest season, many do not have the proper clothing to keep warm during our cold winter months. Your gift provides a needed blessing to the children to enable them to keep warm in their travels to school. Again you are awesome. Your act of kindness provided more than just an item to wear, but needed encouragement along with a message that Collingswood Presbyterian cares for them. May God continue to bless every family of the church, its leadership and community of Collingswood New Jersey. 16 Making Good Marriages Stronger You have done everything for the kids, spend all your energy on your job and home, cared for your neighbors, isn t it time to take care of you and your marriage? When we take relationships for granted, we look around and suddenly they are gone. Spend some time this Lent and make your relationship with your spouse stronger. 17 What does it mean to be a disciple of Christ in our day and age? What would throwing our nets aside to follow Jesus look like to day? We will be taking a look at different spiritual practices we can take on during Lent and use throughout our lifetime. Use this time of Lent to deepen your faith and your relationship with Christ. Put up a yard sign to advertise in your neighborhood when we start registration. Donate financial gifts to pay for our up front costs. Come in and read to the kids in our new library!

23 Easter Plants 2015 We will once again be offering Easter plants to be purchased in memory or in honor of a friend or loved one. The plants will be used to decorate our sanctuary on Easter Sunday. At the conclusion of the service you may take your plant with you or you can leave it for the Deacons to distribute to shut -ins. The cost of each plant is $13.00 except for Easter Lilies, which are $9.00 each.
