Renew us again O Lord in this time of worship. Amen. Prelude Welcome and Announcements We welcome you in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ! Please sign the guest book in the narthex so we can send you a welcome packet. Gathering of Prayer Concerns and Joys Please raise your hand to share your joys or concerns to be included in the prayers of the people this day. You may also write your concern on the pink sheets and hand to the Pastor. Please mail a prayer card from the narthex to your loved one. 4 Call to Worship Leader: On that first day, when time began: People: you gave birth to creation; light danced through the darkness; the waters of hope flowed free and clear. Leader: On that first day at the Jordan, when redemption began: People: you spoke of life for all your children, as your Child stepped into the waters of forgiveness, dancing in hope with his cousin, John. Leader: On this first day of the week, when we begin anew: People: you call us to faithfulness, as we open our hearts to you, your voice claiming us as your own. *Hymn Baptized in Water GTG #482 tune - Bunessan Prayer of Confession Leader: You and I are now the ones who step forth out of the safe waters of baptism, to bring hope, to share a word of grace, to carry healing into the brokenness of the lives around us. Let us confess how we still struggle to follow in faith wherever Jesus leads us. Join me as we pray, saying, People: Timeless God, you cast Light into sin's dark places and call us your Beloved. Forgive us: when we still linger in the shadows; when we treat others in hurtful ways; when we speak ill of your friends. As Jesus knelt in the waters of Jordan, you proclaimed Jesus as your Child, pointing to him as the way to you. Forgive us: when we put ourselves ahead of him; when we think he is no longer needed; when we fail to see him in the broken of our world.

5 Baptized and blessed in your living waters, you would have us be your servants in our time. Forgive us: when we fail to welcome the stranger; when we refuse to forgive as we should; when we believe we are too good to kneel down and tie the shoes of the lost, the least, and the last. Silent Prayers may be offered Words of Assurance Leader: Touched by the waters of life, fed at the feast of grace and hope, embraced in the warmth of God's love and hopes - this is good news for all of us! People: Blessed by baptism's tears, called to servanthood by the Beloved, filled with the peace of the Spirit, we are indeed God's people - redeemed, restored, refreshed to serve. Thanks be to God! I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

7 Offering All we possess comes from God s hand. All that we share has been provided to us. We cannot give except as God has blessed us. Our offerings are first of all a response to God s generosity. DEBORAH BRINCIVALLI The Rev. Dr. "Debby" Brincivalli is the Executive Presbyter of the Presbytery of West Jersey since July, This involves care for the 59 churches and 10,000 members in our bounds in addition to caring for all clergy be they specialized, parish pastors or retired. The office of executive presbyter is one that encourages relationships and mission among churches and pastors, and is the ecumenical and interfaith dialogue representative for the presbytery, as well as providing interpretation and celebration of the connectional nature of the church. For the previous 23 years she was the pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Burlington. She is married to James Adcock.

11 The Deacons provided a meal of chicken kiev, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw for the IHOC men at the Baptist Church on Tuesday. Thanks to both Karen Mazak and Martha Jane for doing the shopping and cooking. Nominating Committee This church is so blessed to have the dedicated and supportive membership that we do! There are many ways we can give, not just financially but also we can give our time and talents toward the future of Collingswood Presbyterian Church. Candace Lowden, Lorrie Heuser, and Martha Jane Caldwell Bates are serving as your Nominating Committee this year, and it is time to prayerfully consider your place in the future of our church. We have places for Deacons and Session members (Elders) starting in early We are also looking for a member of our Senior High youth to be a Youth Deacon. Please prayerfully consider your role in the future of our church; the direction you d like to see us go in, the activities and programs you want to see in place, and how we can continue to grow in spirit and fellowship with each other in this service. Any member of the Committee would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Kaleidoscope Kids would like to thank everyone for all the snack donations. 12 This week we will resume Sunday School and learn about the Epiphany. We will be doing a craft and activities to go along with what we learned. Please see Mrs. Kolecki if you would like to help. You can sign up to help outside the Christian Education Director's office. Also, if you have a child in Sunday School, please join our Facebook page: Collingswood Presbyterian Church Sunday School. Youth Group will resume tonight at 6:30pm-8pm. We will be undecorating the church so wear clothes you can help out in. There is no seminarian this year so please see Mrs. Kolecki about signing up to help with Youth Group and to bring snack. If you have not done so already, please join our Youth Group Facebook Page: Collingswood Presbyterian Youth Group. It is a good way to keep in touch and up to date on youth group info and activities.
