Children ages four through fifth grade may leave when noted for Discovery Time, a worship education program which will be held in Crossroads Center. Please see an usher for directions to the room. Children should be picked up there following this service. Older children are encouraged to stay with their parents during worship. If you have a little one that needs Nursery care during this service, please see one of our ushers. You are encouraged to write your prayer and praise requests on the yellow sheets found in the pew slots. Please give them to an usher or place them in the offering plate. Note: There is no Education Hour (Adult or Children s Sunday School) today. Education Hour will resume next Sunday, January 6. Adult Education Three all new adult education classes will be starting on January 6. Look for details in next Sunday s bulletin insert. Choose a class and join us for this fun and educational time! Please help Undecorate the Church - All of us are enjoying the beautifully decorated sanctuary. The Deacons wish to thank everyone who participated in adorning the church with Christmas decorations, and providing funds for the poinsettias. We will need the help of volunteers to undecorate the church TODAY at 10:45 a.m. when the festive look will be packed away, ready to emerge again next year for Christmas. All volunteers are welcome, and we thank you in advance for your help. Special Offering Envelopes are available on the table in the Narthex. Contributions placed in these envelopes will be used to help balance the 2018 budget. Saturday Communion Service The next Saturday worship service will be this Saturday, January 5 at 5:00 p.m. in the Crossroads Center. We will celebrate the Lord s Supper together. Join us! Room at the Inn - Thank you to all those who volunteered to make Room at the Inn another success this year! We provided a comforting environment for families during a difficult stage in their lives. This year we are headed to Tell Hai Retreat Center with First Presbyterian Church of Ambler on January 18 th 20 th. The retreat is open to all youth 6 th to 12 th grade. For questions and to RSVP contact Evan Lehman. Women s Retreat Sign up now! In January we will return to Ocean City, New Jersey for our annual Women s Retreat (January 18-20, 2019). Sign up on the bulletin board outside of the Narthex and mark the date on your calendar now so you won t miss a great time of spiritual refreshment, fun and good food. All women of Supplee and their friends are invited! The cost will be $60 per person. The house is on the first floor only so no steps. Contact the church office for more information. Prayer Shawls Available - If anyone would like a prayer shawl to give to someone in need, please contact Toni Hagendorf at Sanctuary Flowers - The flower chart for 2019 is on the bulletin board in the hallway leading out of the narthex. When you would like to donate flowers, please sign next to the date, choosing chancel (listed first) or communion table. There will be only chancel flowers on communion Sundays (the first Sunday of the month). At the same time, please pick up a flower envelope (at the bottom of the chart) and fill it out. When doing so, be sure to check whether or not you will take the flowers and also include your dedication information. The cost of chancel flowers is $40; a communion table arrangement is $20. Please make your check payable to "Supplee Church." 2019 Offering Envelopes Are Available - Please pick up your 2019 offering envelope boxes from the table in the hallway outside of the Parlor. This saves us from having to mail them. 5 Mission of the Month Jon and Cindi Hampshire H Translation Way, Orlando, FL Organization: Wycliffe Bible Translators, PO Box Orlando, FL Cindi and Jon have served with Wycliffe Bible Translators for 30 years. They served overseas for 17 of those 30 years. For the past 10 years they have lived and served at Wycliffe s USA headquarters in Orlando, FL. But God is moving them back to Africa in a few months. Jon will move back into the branch director role. Cindi will work in the office in various roles including assisting Jon, and leading the prayer department. Since 1917, Wycliffe has been translating the Bible into hundreds of native languages around the world. Wycliffe brings the Word of God to people who otherwise would literally have no opportunity to hear it. The diversity of language is in great trouble, today. One spoken language disappears forever every 14 days. By the year 2100, appropriately 7,000 more languages will be lost. The Hampshires ask for prayers for Africa. Now that they have the opportunity to hear God's Word, the prayer is that they will receive it in their hearts. Thank you so much for your partnership with them in this important ministry of Bible translation!
