Divine Mercy Sunday is a very special Solemnity which is always celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. It is a day that celebrates the merciful love of God shining through the whole of the Easter Triduum and the whole Easter mystery. It is a day of declaration of reparation for all sins. On this day, Jesus offers us the opportunity of receiving a plenary indulgence - the total forgiveness of all sins and punishment - to anyone who goes to confession (within 20 days of the feast) and receives Him in Holy Communion on that day.
