AEDAN S Tantum Ergo Sacramentum, veneremur cernui (On bended knee, let us worship so great a Sacrament). St. Thomas Aquinas wrote those words in a hymn to express our proper attitude toward Jesus in the Eucharist. Come spend some time in worship of this great gift and mystery. Nocturnal Adoration will be held at St. Aedan s on Friday, September 1ST between 8 PM - 11PM. Items that are most needed are: Cooking oil, boxed milk, cookies, salad dressing, condiments & spices, sugar, flavored cereals (low sugar), canned fruits & applesauce, coffee, Ziploc bags and foil, toilet tissue, toothbrushes, tissues, paper towels, toothpaste, soap, shampoo / conditioner, dish soap, laundry detergent, razors, shaving cream, deodorant, cranberry and apple juice. (Canned vegetables, pasta & organic foods are NOT needed now). ROCKLAND 9-11 MEMORIAL MASS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 TH AT 7 PM We invite everyone to please save the date for this year s Rockland County 9-11 Memorial Mass. Because this special mass is traditionally hosted by the Vicar/Dean, this year it will be held right here at Saint Aedan s Church. During the mass, we will pray aloud for all of our Rockland family members and friends who perished during the Attack on America, September 11, We will also pray for God s continued love and protection upon all those they left behind on that terrible day. Uniformed responders, both retired and still on the job, are invited to attend in uniform. Others may wish to wear shirts appropriate to one of the uniformed services. Following the mass, refreshments will be served in the parish hall. The Ladies Guild would welcome your help in providing for the hospitality table following the mass. RCIA ADULT RELIGIOUS EDUCATION We would like to invite our adults to consider joining RCIA - the adult religious education program for those who would like to investigate becoming Catholic or anyone who is already baptized and would like to receive the sacraments of Holy Communion and/or Confirmation. THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL SEPTEMPER 5TH. Classes for the year for grades 1-8 will begin the week of 9/11. Registration not received before August 17, will be unable to start the first week of class. Late registration will be accepted September Students who register before 9/7 will start the 2 nd week of class. Registration will not be accepted during class time the first week of class. Registration forms can be picked up and dropped off in the Rectory from Monday-Friday. CANCER SUPPORT GROUP HERE AT ST. AEDAN S Unlike other groups, our parish group will be open to anyone affected by this disease, including family members and friends. Thank you for your interest and God Bless You! We at St. Aedan s have formed a cancer support group which is known as Our Lady Queen of Peace Cancer Support Group. At present, the group will meet once a month. More frequent meetings may be scheduled in the future if the members determine it would be desirable. The group will meet on the second Tuesday of each month. The meetings will start in September and the first one will be on September 12th at 7:00P.M. in the meeting room. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 TH 12 NOON 3 PM CHURCH GROUNDS Food - Beverages Games Family Fun SPECIAL NOON MASS A special mass and a support group meeting for all who are affected by the disease of alcoholism will take place at Church of St. Mary, 20 Legion Place, Closter, NJ on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 12:00 noon. Mass is offered for the support, healing and recovery of not only the man/woman directly affected with the abuse of alcohol and/or drugs, but also for anyone involved in the life of the alcoholic or drug addict. The Adult Learning Center of Rockland is an organization of retired Seniors who volunteer to teach others how to use computers and other 21 st century devices. We are a program of Meals on Wheels. We also teach one-time-only 2-hour classes on Computer Maintenance, How to use your ipad and iphone, How to use Tablets and Smart Phones, Skype and Facebook. Classes are small - only 8 students per class, with 1 instructor and 2 coaches.
