11 Music Notes Anthem The Singing Heart by Bob Chilcott Handbell Ringers: Karin & Tim McDonough, Naomi Charboneau, and Ronnee Edwards The singing heart is always open, it s beating out alive and free. The singing heart cannot be broken, singing for all eternity. Sing on, sing on, share in our common tongue. Sing on, sing on, voices and hearts as one. A world that brings us all together, restores and sets the spirit free. A world that sings gives us forever, a vision of peace and unity. Sing on, sing on, share in our common tongue. Sing on, sing on, voices and hearts as one. The Singing Heart by English composer and former Kings Singer Bob Chilcott is a plea for inclusiveness and a celebration of the communion we can all share through song. On this World Communion Sunday, we hope that everyone can meet with an open heart and that this song will help us all share in our common bonds. Offertory Come to the Table, words by Garland and music by Brahms, adapted Come to the table, and take the fruit of grace. Christ has invited, come meet him face to face. When we gather with each other, Christ welcomes us with joy. O, let us come, with trusting faith, and join him to taste the feast of joy. This is my body: the bread of life for you. This is my life-blood: salvation s gift anew. When we receive, eat and believe that Christ is present here. O, let us taste redemption s grace and walk faithfully and without fear. Come from the table, go forth that all may live. Christ will walk with us and teach us how to give. When we show trust, prove that we re just, then hope shall come again. O, let us share the Spirit s gift and labor so Love on Earth may reign.
