Our Ash Wednesday Service is February 18 at 7:00 PM in the chapel. The sermon will begin the sermon series on The Seven Respectable Sins. Reclaiming the Great Society: Progressive Political Activism in the 21st Century is a First Church Forum that will be held Saturday, February 28 from 8:30 AM to noon in Collins Hall. This forum is sponsored by Church & Society, Planet Church, Reconciling Ministries, and UMW. Join us for an informative discussion with professional lobbyists and local representatives. 8 S aint S SINNERS LENT 2015 every saint has a past every sinner has a future A WEDNESDAY sh Theme for our Lenten Suppers this year is: Lent Madness: Who Will Win the Golden Halo? Our Lenten Suppers will begin Wednesday, February 25 and go through March 25. Here is the schedule: 5:30 to 6:15 PM Lenten Supper 6:15 to 6:55 PM Lenten Study A light supper in Collins Hall Lent Madness in the Fireside Room Join us as we look at the lives of the saints. Then create your brackets and cast your votes to see who rises in the standings and who falls by the wayside (but not from grace!) During Lent we will study the Seven Respectable Sins to see how best to live a bit differently. This sermon series will begin with our Ash Wednesday Service on February 18 at 7:00 PM in the chapel. This sermon will examine the respectable sin of Humblebrag... which is really the deadly sin of pride. Join us for this reflective service and the disposition of ashes. Lenten Book Study: Slow Church March 1-22 Four Sundays in March 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM Room 110 This book study will take a look at how the Church can better be locally focused, yet with a global mindset. Grab lunch after church then come back for this four week book study. Book purchase required. Led by Rev. Jeremy.
