It is the table of company with Jesus, and with all who follow him. It is the table of communion with the earth, in which Christ became incarnate. So come to this table, you who have much faith and you who would like to have more; you who have been here often and you who have not been for a long time. Come to this table. It is Christ who invites us to meet him here. It is Christ who feeds us and fills us, renews us and refreshes us with this holy meal. The Confession May God be with you. And also with you. We enter into communion with one another as we shed the burdens we carried this week, the memories of those sins deadly, respectable, or otherwise that are on our hearts. We confess those times when we fell short of our expectations now in the silence In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.

4 The Great Thanksgiving In your creation, O God, You called into existence things that did not exist: the universe and all that inhabits it. From Abraham and Sarah you brought forth nations, calling them to walk before you in the righteousness that comes from a wrestling faith. Creating God, we thank you. In your child, Jesus, you showed your compassion for the afflicted. He was rejected by the religious leaders and killed, but three days later, he lived anew. You blessed even those disciples who doubted, those stalwart friends who abandoned you, and called all to live an abiding faith. Redeeming God, we thank you. In your ongoing story of the people of God, we are called to resist all evil, and turn our backs on its lures of comfort and honor, of power and success, seeking instead to bring forth a world where all who are broken are gathered, blessed, and sent out to live out your love. Sustaining God, we thank you. From the streets, the alleys, the darkness, you call us out of our homes of comfort to walk in the light. We gather around your one table now, to share the common cup with joy, to be nourished from the same loaf, and await the day when all are gathered around this table in glory. The Sharing of the Feast (All persons are invited to share the bread and the cup, as the ushers indicate. Gluten-free elements are available in the center station.) The Prayer after Receiving: Holy God, transform us from the inside-out to live out the joy that we have shared on this day.
