7 THE COMMONS IN COLLINS HALL Coffee today is hosted in Collins Hall today by Stephen Ministry. Today at First Church SIGN UP FOR FAMILY SERVICE NIGHT Family Service Nights are an opportunity for families to come together through fellowship and acts of kindness. Each month, a family will host, providing a location to fellowship and a mission February 23 beginning at 4:00 PM in Room 202. Plan to bring a dish to share in a family potluck Please sign up in Collins Hall today or contact Megan Jones. PANCAKE FEED Come and support the Youth Group s Annual Pancake Lunch fundraiser today after worship. Pancakes, fruit, sausage and coffee are available for a suggested donation of $5. There will be gluten-free and vegetarian options available. Food will be served buffet style in Collins Hall. LENTEN SMALL GROUP Join pastors Donna and Jeremy for this small group experience in spiritual growth, beginning today and ending on Palm Sunday, March 24. We will begin each week with lunch out together after worship and the group session will run from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Contact Rev. Jeremy Smith for more information. Adult Sunday School Classes CHRISTIANITY IN A CHANGING WORLD... is discussing: The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion, by Jonathan Haidt, at 9:00 AM in Room 202. THE GATHERING The Gathering is a Sunday morning opportunity for young adults and parents of Sunday School children and meets at 9:30 AM in Room 204. THE PSALMS IN TEN WEEKS... will use Walter Brueggemann s: The Message of the Psalms and meets at 9:00 AM in Room SOMETHINGS! 9:30 AM.
8 We had a HUGE response and these suppers should be lively times of food and fellowship together. As interest grows, we will add more Supper Groups in May, perhaps closer to your home! WEST Our Supper groups are now organized! These groups will meet once in February, March, and April to share a meal and fellowship with one another. There will be a discussion topic and the hope is that the coordinator role would switch each month. Groups have the freedom to do a hosted supper, potluck supper, or eat out at a restaurant. To join a supper group, you must contact the area host. CENTRAL If you live WEST closest to the Beaverton/Hillsdale/Bethany Supper Group is on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Rev. On March 5, 2013 attend a reading of Lost in Yonkers, by Neil Simon by area professionals. at the Old Church in downtown Portland. We meet at First Church at 9:00 AM and carpool. Following the play we return to the Oregon Culinary Institute for lunch. Registration is $22.00 for the play tickets and lunch with a limit of 20 participants.
