Starting in Fall 2015, we are expanding our Sunday School program by creating a Sunday School class for each grade level! This change will create smaller class sizes with more opportunities for learning, mentoring, creativity, and growth. This exciting expansion will require an increased number of Sunday School Teachers. All volunteers teaching in the fall should plan to attend the June 28th training session immediately following worship. Sunday School teachers are also needed for our Summer months. If you would like to teach 1-3 Sundays during the summer (June 21 September 6), please sign up via or on the sign up sheets located at Fireside Coffee Hour. If you would like to learn more about our Sunday School program and the role of a Sunday School Teacher, please Megan Jones or call to arrange a time to chat.
7 TODAY Today s Coffee Hour is hosted by the 5th Sunday, Friends of Coffee Hour group. Please join us in the Fireside Room after worship. Reconciling Forum: After worship in 202 Rev. Jeremy Smith will lead us through How Did We Get Here? A Brief History of the LGBT Debate in the United Methodist Church. Enjoy a delicious lunch and learn about the continuing story of our church s struggle. Those attending the Children s Theater production of Ramona Quimby plan to meet in Rm 134 for a pizza lunch immediately following the service. LOOKING AHEAD A 9 am worship service will start on June 7th in the Chapel. This will be a little more informal, interactive, and fun!! First Church is seeking volunteers in the front office! We need weekday support mid to late June, and Sundays before and after worship. Basic duties involve answering the phone, entering data, helping with the Circuit Rider, and printing the bulletin. Emily Wright and Liz Temple will host an information and training session on Thursday, June 11th at 1:30 pm. If you are interested please attend! If you have any questions about the position, please contact Emily Wright at office@fumcpdx.org or (503) Please RSVP by June 8th. Thank you!
