3 August 30, Summer is nearly gone. Some students have already returned to college or high school. Back to work, everybody! Next Sunday is Food Collec on Sunday Baskets will be available at the doors of the church for your contribu ons. Please help to feed the hungry of the parish. The fall season will see the completion of our first phase of the Capital Campaign projects begun and completed! We have a firm commitment from our company (Precision-Aire) to begin work September 15 th! And to have it completed it in about a month. Thank you for your patience! Also, thanks to all who made pledges and faithfully followed thru with timely payments. The Parish and I owe you a debt of gratitude! The new A/C system will be far more energy efficient and easier to operate and repair and less costly in electricity! We will keep you posted as to our progress. Also and importantly, the Parish has already contributed more than enough to pay for the A/C immediately upon completion and testing!

(Regular Sunday Offertory) Last Sunday s weekly offering: $ Last Year s Sunday offering: $8, Bulletin Reflection Every worthwhile gift, every genuine benefit comes from above, says St. James in the second reading. But, he reminds us, true worship of God involves using those good gifts to benefit the less fortunate. Good stewardship is not optional; it is the hallmark of our faith! Living Stewardship We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish who demonstrate by their generosity that they understand God is the Source of all they are and have. August 30-Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time: On September 9, the Church celebrates the feast of Blessed Frederic Ozanam, the founder of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Frederic heard the call of Jesus to love and serve those who are suffering. And in the poor he found the face of Christ. This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent depaul was able to carry the mission of Bl. Frederic Ozanam by assisting families by Providing food and money for utility, rent and other bills. God Bless You! Road Angels are needed to drive parishioners to and from doctor appointments. 5 August 30, Dear Brothers and Sisters, Thank you so much for joining us as a Companion in Service through your gift of $2, on 6/29/2015. We are so grateful to you for your support and that of all of our Companions, without whom this mission would be impossible. We had a small shrine in front of the altar where we gathered for prayer at least twice a day. It held your name and the names of each of our Companion, reminding us of your presence with us, and our promise to hold you in our hearts and prayers. With this letter I want to share a couple of the many beautiful things of which you were a part by joining us as a Companion. I begin with something Ceara shared with our community at our closing on the way home. She said: I have been faithful to going to Church in my parish all my life. I went to Catholic School and we went to Mass regularly there. But Sunday evening in Harlan was the first time I went to Mass! What she was expressing is that the Mass came alive and had meaning like she never experienced before. The community into which God invited us; the fact that we were living so much more intentionally what we celebrate, gave new meaning to the Mass for her (and others.) This is something we will carry with us the rest of our lives. Thank you! We are exceedingly grateful for your support and for joining us as a Companion in Service. We continue to pray that God pour out on you His abundant blessings.
