3 February 4, Lent is fast approaching! Ash Wednesday falls on Valentine s Day this year! Not much time to place ourselves interiorly in this important season! Our spring season of the Arise process takes place during Lent. What a fine gift to the Lord it would be if many of our parishioners who have not yet participated in this exciting process would do so this time around! Prayer, fasting and almsgiving are the three components of a good Lent - each person doing something according to their personal circumstances. Arise Together in Christ is a wonderfully constructed faith sharing process. This year the Lenten time frame may just be enough to give a good number of our parishioners, friends and neighbors, the incentive to join the team. Our Young Adult Coffee House schedule is listed in the bulletin, please check out the details. Jubilee Mass Join us for a joyful evening for a Prayer & Praise at the Jubilee Mass of Charismatic Renewal here at St. Francis on February 9th/ Friday at 7:00pm. We celebrate 50 years of the working of the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit and the Catholic Church ( ). We look forward to 50 more years of God s wonderful work in Charismatic Renewal in our Church. Living Stewardship We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish who use their gifts of healing and forgiveness to help repair relationships in families beset with divorce, death, dysfunction or abuse. February 4-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time: In the Gospel today, we find that Jesus would rise very early before dawn and go to a deserted place to pray and then he went out to preach and to heal. Please pray for the poor and suffering, knowing that you are bringing the love and peace of Jesus to those who live in fear and doubt, loneliness and dread. BREAST CANCER SUPPORT GROUP St. Patrick s Church, 400 Main Street, Huntington Group meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm in the Rectory basement. We are a group of women who have been afflicted with this disease and we meet to lend support to one another through our difficult times.
