It is through Mary s Yes - I am the handmaid of the Lord. Let it be done to me as you say. - that the promise finds fulfillment. Living Stewardship We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish who have the courage, like Mary, to listen to God s voice in their own hearts. December 24 Fourth Sunday of Advent: Imagine how Mary felt at the birth of Jesus: excited, awed, frightened. Deep faith was her light in the darkness, for Jesus was born during the night of the year when darkness is the longest. Your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul brought light into the darkness surrounding the heart of those living in poverty bringing them the real, lasting, and deep joy of Christmas. Fr. Peter is looking for someone to donate EXCERPTS FROM THE ROMAN MISSAL book to the Church. This book represents a worthy and welcome solution to a commonly voiced concern: The Roman Missal is a large and heavy book, difficult for altar servers (who are often children) to hold for the celebrant and to carry around the Sanctuary. Developed by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and approved by the Vatican, Excerpts include only those texts of the Missal that are used by the celebrant at the chair. The resulting volume is approximately half the size of the full Missal. The book is $99.95 and will be adorned with a nameplate of the donor. Please call the rectory if you can help! Paumanack Village is looking for volunteers interested in helping with food pick up from Island Harvest in Hauppauge on Monday mornings each week.
