(Regular Sunday Offertory) Last week s weekly offering: $8, Last year s weekly offering: $10, Bulletin Reflection John the Baptist s call to repentance is echoed in the US Bishops pastoral letter on stewardship: Christians must beg God for the grace of conversion: the grace to know who they are, to whom they belong, how they are to live - the grace to repent and change and grow, the grace to become good disciples and stewards. Living Stewardship We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish who strive to respond to God s grace through service to our parish and the wider community, especially our Parish Social Ministries and Senior Services. December 10 Second Sunday of Advent: In today s Gospel John the Baptist urges us to Prepare the way of the Lord.. We are called to help prepare the way of the Lord by making the real meaning of Christmas come alive in our own hearts, in our family and to reach out to those in need. Is there a family you know who needs assistance? Please call the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that together we can help the suffering and poor to celebrate Christmas. 6 December 10, An exciting new program for Moms (Dads and grandparents too) with their 2,3 and 4 year old children here at St. Francis. Beginning Friday, January 12th at 10:00am, our parish children will be introduced to wholesome literature, crafts which inspire, and music that expands their love for Jesus. The first one-hour session will include: a reading of The Donkey s Dream written and illustrated by Barbara Helen Berger; creating a miniature donkey; singing, The Little Gray Donkey. Interested parents can call Senior women from the Arise program are looking forward to passing on the faith to the youngest members of our St. Francis Family. Mr. DiDonna leads the Music Ministry at Thanksgiving Mass. Altar Servers are needed! 8 December 10, Peanut Butter and Jelly Gang St Francis of Assisi Church, Greenlawn Dear St. Francis Parishioners, As Co-Chair of College of the Holy Cross Dance Marathon and on behalf of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Founda on, I would personally like to thank the St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church Parishioners for their support at this past Thanksgiving Masses to raise funds for elimina ng pediatric AIDS in Africa and throughout the world. I would also like to thank Fr. Peter and Fr. Françoise for their personal support and endorsement with my efforts this past Thanksgiving mass. I am happy to report that we raised $1010 Thank you all for your support. Paumanack Village is looking for volunteers interested in helping with food pick up from Island Harvest in Hauppauge on Monday mornings each week.
