Parish Office Requests To register in the parish, arrange for a baptism, or request a Certificate of Eligibility for sponsorship at Baptism or Confirmation, contact the Parish Office during office hours at epiphanych@comcast.net. Also, please advise our office staff of any change of address, telephone number or family status. Anointing of the Sick First Saturday of the month during 8:30 a.m. Mass or by request. Please notify the rectory as soon as possible when any parishioner becomes seriously ill or is admitted to the hospital. Baptism Baptisms are celebrated after the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sundays upon request. Both first-time parents need to attend a Pre-Jordan class, which is held the first Wednesday of every month. Pre-Registration for the class is required by contacting the Parish Office. Sponsors not from Epiphany are required to submit a Certificate of Eligibility from their parish two weeks prior to the Baptism. Matrimony Notify the priest of your intention to marry at least six months before the date of the wedding to assure sufficient preparation and to arrange for Pre-Cana sessions. Miraculous Medal Perpetual Novena After 8:30 a.m. Mass every Saturday. Holy Communion for the Sick and Homebound Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are available to bring Communion to the sick and homebound. In the encyclical Laudato Si, Pope Francis wrote that this annual day of prayer will serve to reaffirm...personal vocation to be stewards of creation, to thank God for the wonderful handiwork which he has entrusted to our care, and to implore his help for the protection of creation. Blessed are you, O God, Creator of the universe, who have made all things good and given the earth for us to cultivate. Grant that we may always use created things gratefully and share your gift with those in need, out of the love of Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you for ever and ever. Amen. Contact Steve Bozza at (215) Statement of Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap., Regarding Racial Violence in Charlottesville, VA Racism is a poison of the soul. It s the ugly, original sin of our country, an illness that has never fully healed. Blending it with the Nazi salute, the relic of a regime that murdered millions, compounds the obscenity. Thus the wave of public anger about white nationalist events in Charlottesville this weekend is well warranted. We especially need to pray for those injured in the violence. But we need more than pious public statements. If our anger today is just another mental virus displaced tomorrow by the next distraction or outrage we find in the media, nothing will change. Charlottesville matters. It s a snapshot of our public unraveling into real hatreds brutally expressed; a collapse of restraint and mutual respect now taking place across the country. We need to keep the images of Charlottesville alive in our memories. If we want a different kind of country in the future, we need to start today with a conversion in our own hearts, and an insistence on the same in others. That may sound simple. But the history of our nation and its tortured attitudes toward race proves exactly the opposite. Lord, For an end to the violence and that our homes, our nation, and countries around the world become havens of peace. For the grace to see every human being as a child of God. For the strength to teach our children how to resolve differences non-violently and respectfully. For our faith community, that we may celebrate and welcome the diverse faces of Christ. That we may respond boldly to the Holy Spirit's call to act together to end violence and racism. For healing and justice for all those who have experienced violence and racism. For the protection of all police and first responders who risk their lives daily to ensure our safety; for fair and just policing that will promote peace and wellbeing in all our neighborhoods. For the courage to have difficult conversations about racism, and for a better appreciation of how our words and actions or even our silence can impact our communities. We pray to the Lord. Amen!
