Parish Office Requests To register in the parish, arrange for a baptism, or request a Certificate of Eligibility for sponsorship at Baptism or Confirmation, contact the Parish Office during office hours at epiphanych@comcast.net. Also, please advise our office staff of any change of address, telephone number or family status. Anointing of the Sick First Saturday of the month during 8:30 a.m. Mass or by request. Please notify the rectory as soon as possible when any parishioner becomes seriously ill or is admitted to the hospital. Baptism Baptisms are celebrated after the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sundays upon request. Both first-time parents need to attend a Pre-Jordan class, which is held the first Wednesday of every month. Pre-Registration for the class is required by contacting the Parish Office. Sponsors not from Epiphany are required to submit a Certificate of Eligibility from their parish two weeks prior to the Baptism. Matrimony Notify the priest of your intention to marry at least six months before the date of the wedding to assure sufficient preparation and to arrange for Pre-Cana sessions. Miraculous Medal Perpetual Novena After 8:30 a.m. Mass every Saturday. Holy Communion for the Sick and Homebound Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are available to bring Communion to the sick and homebound. Call the Parish Office at (610) to provide the office staff with the name, address and phone number of the sick or homebound parishioner.

To learn more about the Dominican Sisters, visit Trinity Dome Collection The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) approved a request from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, to have a one-time collection to help complete the last planned aspect of the building, which is a mural of the Trinity on the interior of the Basilica s dome. Here in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, the Trinity Dome collection will take place as a voluntary collection on the weekend of June 10-11, which is Trinity Sunday.

3 World Mission Rosary to honor Our Lady In February of 1951, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen (national director of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith at the time) introduced the World Mission Rosary saying, We must pray, and not for ourselves, but for the world. To this end, I have designed the World Mission Rosary. Each of the five decades is a different color to represent each of the five continents. Green for the forests and grasslands of Africa; Blue for the ocean surrounding the islands of the Pacific; White symbolizing Europe, the seat of the Holy Father, shepherd of the world; Red calling to mind the fire of faith that brought missionaries to the Americas; and, Yellow, the morning light of the East, for Asia. When the World Mission Rosary is completed, one has embraced all continents, all people in prayer. Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Pastoral Council Election Ballots Ballots for our annual Parish Pastoral Council election have been mailed to 1644 households this week. You are invited to vote for two of the 10 candidates and return the ballot to the Parish Office by Friday, June 16. Parish Pastoral Council One of the greatest models of collaboration within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia continues to be the Parish Pastoral Council. Since the initial formation of councils in 1992, pastors and Parish Pastoral Councils have labored to create and implement a vision of ongoing renewal within each parish, Cardinal Rigali wrote in his letter dated 25 February 2005 addressed to the faithful of the Archdiocese. It is my hope that these efforts have been a fruitful experience. All of us can look toward the future with the hope that Parish Pastoral Councils will continue to work collaboratively with pastors and parish staff members to bring greater vitality and vibrancy to parish life, Cardinal Rigali stated. To bring this hope to fruition, I encourage all pastors to remain committed to the development of Parish Pastoral Councils, consulting with them to address the varied aspects of parish life. I also encourage the laity to continue to step forward to lend their gifts and talents to the ongoing development of Parish Pastoral Councils and the building up of their parish communities as communities of prayer and worship, communities of faith and service, the Cardinal concluded. Dogmatic Constitution on the Church...by reason of the knowledge, competence or pre eminence which they have, the laity are empowered, indeed sometimes obliged, to manifest their opinion in those things which pertain to the good of the Church. If the occasion should arise, this should be done through the institutions established by the Church for that purpose and always with truth, courage and prudence and with reverence and charity towards those who by reason of their office, represent the person of Christ (37). Decree on the Apostolate of the Laity...the laity have an active part to play in the life and activity of the Church. Their activity is so necessary within Church communities that without it the apostolate of the pastors is generally unable to achieve its full effectiveness (10).
