Please call the rectory at to set up an appointment with a Priest. First time parents and godparents are required to attend a Baptism Preparation Session. Only when Certificates of Eligibility from godparents are presented, then a date for the baptism can be set. The Baptism Preparation Sessions are held the first Sunday of the month at 12:00 PM in the Upper Church, with registration required. To register, please call the parish secretary during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM). Registration must be made prior to the last Friday of the month. If no registrations are received, a session may not be held. We have a real opportunity every second Sunday of the month to be channels and instruments of great joy to people in our area by bringing a bag, full of non-perishable food to church; and by our generous response to the Catholic Charities Appeal, if we have not yet done so. let us ask the Holy Spirit to move us to generosity beyond ourselves and our loved ones to those in need in our community. 5 l_mbp Every summer the weekly offerings drop when parishioners are out of town for vacation, and for most folks, if we aren't present at Mass, obviously, we aren't there to put our offering into the basket. In the meantime, the bills and necessary expenses to carryon the parish continue during the summer and must be paid. The Solution - You plan ahead for your vacation and make reservations and send deposits for your hotel and other accommodations. In the same way, why not put the offerings for the weeks you will be away into the offertory basket before you leave? Then you can enjoy your vacation knowing that the mission and ministry of the parish can continue unhindered as you enjoy your time of relaxation. That day is also a time to recognize and give respectful condolences to the grieving families of those individuals. Eachyear, the Springfield American Legion Post 227 hosts a parade and memorial services to honor those who have fallen. We pay special tribute to individuals from Springfield Township who lost their lives... This Memorial Day, 2017, our American Legionpost will be paying respects to a fallen hero and Springfield resident Specialist Michael J. Smith, United States Army. The Memorial Day services include a special remembrance byfamily members, a prayer for the departed by a member of the clergy, the lowering of our flag to half-staff with taps played, and recognition of Specialist Michael J. Smith by a current member of our military. The Springfield Township Memorial Day parade will be Memorial Day, May 29, starting at 10:00 AM, Veterans Memorial Park on Springfield Road,and proceeding to the Springfield Township Building. ADORE We encounter!be -rear' Jesus at the Eucharist. We hear God's Word proclaimed in the Scriptures, and we receive the Boa a'ld Blood of Our Lord and Savior. Spending time adoring the real presence of Our Lord in the Eucharist ootsioe of Mass can help us to better appreciate the intimate encounter that we are privileged to have with Him at every celebration of the Mass, when we become living tabernacles. Adoration helps us to approach Him!n a devout way and experience the great love that He has for us, as He comes to us in Word and Sacrament. To be Continued.
