1 PASTOR LYNN W. BEANUMB EANUM, J, JR Zachary Taylor Highway Mineral, Virginia (540) (phone) (540) (fax) Volume 32, Issue 3 March 4, 2012 Pastor Lynn W. Beanum Jr. Greetings in the wonderful name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who's our sooncoming king and only by his name can we be saved. It's such a blessing to know that He is faithful to do above all we can ask or think. It is in these times that we see the love for God and man diminishing more and more. God informed us that in the last days, this would come to pass. Truly these are the last days. Crime, evil workers and people in high places are condoning wrong. Even the gas prices are on the rise and are predicted to be higher by mid year. Once that happens, the prices of just about everything will increase. However, God wants us to remember, that God s Faithfulness the earth is his, and the fulness thereof; the world; and we that dwell therein (Ps. 24:1). It's good to know that one of His characteristics is Faithfulness. If we commit ourselves to him and acknowledge him in all our ways, he will never leave us nor forsake us. It is Biblically revealed that as living and personal, God's faithfulness is the corollary of His self-consistency. The p o s s e s s o r o f t h a t characteristic is utterly dependable, which brings out God's steadfastness. If we believe not, yet he ab id et h f aith ful ; h e cannot deny himself (II Timothy 2:13). This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord (Lam. 3:21-26). God s preserving love has kept his people from total destruction. After contemplating that fact, we realize He is faithful to his people. Whatever you do, stand on the promises of the Lord. For we can say as David said in Psalms 37:25, I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Heaven and earth may pass away but God's word will never fail. he's such a faithful and just God, let's know that He's always listening to our prayers and is with us. Be blessed in the Lord, knowing that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Amen. Amen. Amen. Verse of the Month Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised). (Hebrews 10:23)

2 A Word from Our Elders Editor s Article Trust God I checked my work and I had an that was forwarded to me. The completely humbled me. I hope it does the same for you. Love y all. Me (in a tizzy): God, can I ask you something? God: Sure Me: Promise you won t get mad? God: I promise Me (frustrated): Why did you let so much stuff happen to me today? God: What do you mean? Me: Well I woke up late, God: Yes Me: My car took forever to start, God: Okay. Me (growling): At lunch, they made my sandwich wrong and I had to wait. God: Hmmmm Me: On my way home, my phone went dead, just as I picked up a call. God: All right. Me (loudly): And to top it all off, when I got home, I just wanted to soak my feet in my foot massager and relax, but it wouldn t work. Nothing went right today! Why did you do that? God: Well let me see.the death angel was at your bed this morning and I had to send one of the other angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that. Me (humbled): Oh God: I didn t let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that might have hit you if you were on the road. Me (ashamed):. God: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick and I didn t want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn t afford to miss work Me (embarrassed): Oh God: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give a false witness about what you said on that call, I didn t even let you talk to them so you would be covered. Me (softly): I see God By: Sister Keli Hughes, Editor God: Oh and that foot massager, it had a short that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn t think you wanted to be in the dark. Me: I am sorry God God: Don t be sorry; just learn to trust me in all things, the good and the bad Me: I WILL trust you God God: And don t doubt that my plan for your day is always better than your plan. Me: I won t God. And let me just tell you God, Thank you for everything today. God: You re welcome child. It was just another day of being your God and I love looking after my children Scripture references : II Samuel 22:31 Proverbs 3:5 Hebrews 2:13 Keep First Things First Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray God s blessings upon you. We are already in the third month of the new year and I am thanking God for his blessings toward you and yours. I am praying that this year God will continue to bless and keep us all in his care. I pray that you let God s spirit and will lead and guide you. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. First things are first! Matthew 6:33 states, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all the these things shall be added unto you. Let God s presence be with you and in you. Change directions if you have not accepted By: Elder Robert Johnson God. Make a U-turn and come to Jesus before it s too late. Give God your best throughout this year and years to come. Let God be first! By doing so, doors will be opened, ways will be made, and opportunities will come your way. In this year, make it your priority to put God first. Be blessed forever!!!! 3 Temple Women Speak Temple Men Speak Excelsior, Up, Up, and Away! Praise the Lord and Glory to God. The word excelsior is a descriptive word or adjective which means higher and ever upward. In this life I have struggled, failed, and have felt as if the gospel had been strangled by the cares of this life but God! Glory to Him who encourages us to lift our eyes unto the hills (Psalm 121:1-2) and to set our affections on things above and not the earth (Col 3:2) Glory to God who encourages us to press toward the mark of the high calling (Phil. 3:14) and to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ (2 Pet. 3:18). Glory to God who encourages us to occupy until He By: Brother Travis Lucas comes (Luke 19:13), to fight the good fight of faith and to lay hold to eternal life (1 Tim. 6:12) until we are caught up to meet him in the air (1 Thess. 4:17). Up, up, and away! Excelsior! Jesus is My Everything By: Sister Teresa Jackson It s so good to know that when you re going through, there is someone who really cares for you. Jesus is my everything. When I m in trouble and no one is around I call on Jesus. He never lets me down. Sometimes in life we go to God for a right-now blessing, but we have to remember that God works in his own time. All you have to do is hold on and wait on the Lord, and when it seems like Jesus doesn t hear you just wait and keep praying. Call on the name of Jesus like never before, keep praying, wait and He will come to your rescue. Jesus is my everything. Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ out Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen. Titus 3;5-6 &15 Volume 32, Issue 3 March 4, 2012 Page 3

4 Elder Jason Lewis, Youth Minister 1st Sundays of each month are Youth Sundays. 1st Sunday Youth Program for March is Postponed If you would like to make donations to the YOUTH DEPARTMENT PLEASE MARK YOUR ENVELOPES Trevon Jones, son of Tracy Griffin, was featured on Fredericksburg.com. The article recognized his growth on the court as a rebounder and a defender. He is averaging 20.2 points a game. His performances in games have numerous Division III schools pursuing him. His coach speaks highly of his ability to lead his team and about the future performances with his chosen college team. We salute you Trevon! Keep up the great work on and off the court. I Love You I used to think God was this big scary man in the sky, waiting for me to do something inevitably wrong, and when I did, he would be waiting and anxious to punish me. Not saying God does not chastise those who he loves (Hebrew 12:5), but what God really wants me to comprehend and realize is that he is a God of love. For His anger endureth but for a moment, but his favor for life (Psalm 30:5). He loves me and wants me to be happy, laughing and enjoying life! He wants us to enjoy our time here on earth and all the pleasures he has designed for us. Psalm 37:4 says, Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. God wants us to be happy in Him. Take joy in being with Him and having a relationship. When we are able to genuinely delight ourselves in Him, he will give us what we want. God is so sweet because he not only supplies our needs; he wishes to give us what our little hearts desire. God knew we would sin, he knew we For the full article visit Fredericksburg.com would never be perfect. That is why he sent his son Jesus to pay the debts for us our past sins, present sins and our sins to come. God knows and has already taken care of it. John 3:16 explains that God loves the world, that is why he gave his only Son to be crucified for our sins. God does not want us to perish. For God sent NOT his only Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:17). I used to think I needed to do something to prove to God that I loved him, or when I sinned, I needed to do some good work to make it up to God. I was wrong. For by such grace you have been saved though faith. This does not come from you; it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8). It is a free gift; all we have to do is accept it. Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace, but as debt. But to Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness (Romans 4:4 & 5). If we work to prove our love for God, it is By: Danyelle Hudson an obligation, as opposed to working for Him because we take delight in it. If we try to make it up to God, we are making Jesus crucifixion in vain. No matter what we do or how many times we do it, God loves us and will never love us any less! God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). Romans 8:1 explains that for those who are in Christ Jesus, there is NO condemnation. There is no blame and we are free. Ephesians 2:3 & 4 tells us we are all sinners, but God has ample mercies, because of his great love for us! Like the song says, A saint is just a sinner who fell down, but didn t stay there He got back up! The Lord is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness (Psalm 145:8). God is love and love is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. When I need a little pick-me-up, I read that scripture and replace the word Love with God. Try it! Page 4 Temple of Deliverance, HCG, Inc, Newsletter

When to Stop Driving By Sister Debbie Adams Driving is a powerful symbol of independence and competence for adults and young people alike. It is also a routine part of life when a person becomes an adult. But as we age, the focused concentration and quick reaction time necessary for safe driving sometimes declines. Alzheimer s disease accelerates this decline process dramatically. If you are caring for a loved one who has Alzheimer s, you may need to limit your loved one s driving--or maybe even stop his or her driving completely. Because of diminished shortterm memory, a driver who has Alzheimer s can get lost easily, even in an area totally familiar to him or her. Even more dangerous, however, is a decline in the ability to judge distance and look out for upcoming traffic problems. Wandering thoughts and eyes can make loved ones with Alzheimer s lose sight of important things directly in front of them like brake lights or traffic signs. For some people, it may be easier to stop driving in the early stages in an Alzheimer s diagnosis, while they are aware enough to make a decision for themselves. For others, people in the early stages of the disease may be able to safely limit their driving to short, day-time trips to familiar places. Pay attention to warnings of unsafe driving, such as: difficulty traveling to familiar places, changing lanes with no thought, making unnecessary turns, confusing the brake and gas pedals, failing to observe traffic signals, making slow decisions, hitting the curb frequently w h i l e d r i v i n g, d r i v i n g at inappropriate speeds, or becoming angry or confused while driving. If you are not sure whether it is safe for your loved one to drive, ask yourself whether you feel safe riding in the vehicle with them, or if you would feel safe having your loved one drive your children or others. If the answer is no, then you know it s time for him or her to retire from driving. When your loved one stops driving, arrange for alternate transportation. Remain firm in your decision as the disease progresses by getting a note from their doctor in case they do not believe you, keeping their keys out of sight, disabling the vehicle, or even selling the vehicle. When they lose this level of independence, they will grieve the loss. Be patient, but stand firm. The consequences of unsafe driving can be devastating. God bless you all!
