Beanum Beanum Jr. Jr. G reetings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ, our captain of salvation and our soon - coming King. Some of you may be asking why repentance again? Well I'm glad you would like to know. You see, after Jesus was crucified, he was resurrected from the dead on the third day and Christ appeared to many. He appeared first to Mary Magdalene (Mark. 16:9-14), two other women and the eleven disciples. He showed himself again in Matthew 28:9 and Luke 24:36. In Acts 9:5, Jesus appears to Saul who persecuted him. In Acts 1:6-11, a question was asked, when they therefore were come together, they asked of him saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the time or the season, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and into the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; which also said, ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go up into heaven. Verse of the Month And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent (Acts 17:30) That being the case, we must repent. Repentance is to experience sorrow for sinning and seek to change wrong behavior. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation, and leaves no regret. First Thessalonians 4:16-18 says, For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. Remember only the repented will be caught up to be with the Lord. Let's pray one for the other that we will be ready when He comes... Amen. 2 A Word from Our Elders Editor s Article Survivor October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and whenever I think about this month, the only word that comes to mind is Survivor. I looked up the word survivor to find that it s not an adjective but a verb! The definition is to carry on despite hardship or trauma; persevere or to remain functional or usable. I had to stop for a minute and soak this definition in. WOW! My Lord and Savior Jesus is the perfect example of a survivor. Aren t you glad you know Him? I know I am. As I continued to let this definition soak in, I realized that I am a survivor myself. I can t say I have suffered from a life-threatening illness and thankfully and gratefully I have never been in an accident, but I have been spiritually beaten and abused. I found out that when my spirit is bruised and battered, it impacts my mental and physical well -being. I tried to fix it myself, of course, to no avail. I continued to try home remedies if you will and I got a temporary fix but they wore off. I began to realize that my soul was dying from all the wounds my spirit had suffered and nothing in me would allow that to happen. Finally I decided that it was time to seek professional help and who was right there waiting for me to make my appointment with him? You got it! Jesus! He has been nursing my wounds and mending and renewing my spirit and my mind. During the period of healing I m in, I realized that God is still using me! My wounds weren t so severe that he looked past me, but instead By: Sister Keli Hughes, Editor he chose me! I was reminded that God will use the most unlikely people. At some point we will get down and sometimes get to the point that we feel like nothing will ever get better. Trust God and let him help you through it and stop trying to fight the battle for him. If knowing that through God it s already done be reminded of Job. He had the worst day in history, but he trusted God. If he could keep his faith in God, I know we can. I just want to encourage you and let you know that through God, you too can be a survivor! I love y all P.S. My article is dedicated to all breast cancer survivors. You are amazing to me and I m glad and thankful that God kept you here to fulfill your purpose He has for you. That is attitude. When floods come, fish eat ants And when floods recede, ants eat fish. Only time matters. Just hold on, God gives opportunity to everyone! Life is not about finding the right person, but creating the right relationship. It's not how we care in the beginning, but how much we care till the very end. Some people always throw stones in your path. It depends on what you make with them. A Wall or a Bridge? Remember you are the architect of your life. Search for a beautiful heart But don't search for a beautiful face. Cuz beautiful things are not always good, But good things are always beautiful. It s not important to hold all the good cards in life. But it s important how well you play with the cards you hold. Often when we lose all hope & think this is the end, God smiles from above and says, Relax, dear, it s just a bend, not the end. Have Faith and have a successful life. One of the basic differences between God and humans is, God gives, gives and forgives. But the human gets, gets, gets and forgets. Be thankful in life... Page 2 Temple of Deliverance, HCG, Inc. 3 Temple Women Speak Temple Men Speak Look at Jesus If the Lord was not on my side I never would have made it through my sickness and my hard times. Back in 1996 the doctor said that I wouldn t be able to see my daughter turn 5 years old but look at Jesus! She is 18, has graduated high school and she is now in college, look what the Lord can do. The doctor doesn t have the final word, Jesus does. I thank God for him being him. I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth (Psalms 34:1). By: Deacon Joseph Ike Jackson Are There Any Hopeless Cases? By: Sister Shirley Moody Our God is an awesome God. He is an almighty God. He is the great I am. These are the words we use to describe our God. Many times in the midst of our struggles we reflect on all that we know about our God. In the deepest of despair we have to know who God really is. When it appears that it is all over, we hear in a still small voice that It is not over until God says it s over. Since we know all of this, why do we despair and the pain of hopelessness? Why do we feel the emptiness of defeat? Satan doesn t want us to see who God really is. He doesn t want us to see beyond the trials that we are experiencing. God knew from the very early existence of our lives that we would have struggles. He knew that we would have stormy and rainy days. There will be storms in our lives. Some might even say I am in the middle of the perfect storm. We have to remember that God is the captain of the ship. He will steer us in the right direction. When the waves of life appear to overtake us, we must know the real captain of our faith. There is nothing on this earth that is more powerful than God. Back to the title, Are there any hopeless cases? God knows all and can heal all. We have to lean on Him, have faith in Him, let go and let Him, trust in Him, call on Him, live for Him and praise Him in the middle of the storm. Satan doesn t care that we describe our God as awesome and he doesn t want us to feel the victory of how awesome God really is. We don t have to be defeated. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth (Psalms 124:8). Volume 32, Issue 10 October 7, 2012 Page 3

Have you ever searched for help and guidance from your family members and found no resolution? Have you taken on too much and become overwhelmed because you didn t listen to the instruction of God? Yes. All of us can agree that we ve been faced with some overwhelming challenges. If we are honest with ourselves we ll find that some of these challenges were brought on by ourselves. We may have looked for guidance from all other sources and become inundated with philosophy, suggestions, and ideas that were not from the Lord. So, in turn we became confused and didn t know which way to go. See the Lord promised us that He would never put any more on us than we can bear. First Peter 5:7 reminds us to, Cast all your care upon Him; for He cares for you. When we trust in and obey Christ even in our lowest point there is always hope. We don t have to worry about our situation, because He has it all in control. You may be asking, Well, who is this person that cares so much for me? Well the answer to that question is easy -- JESUS is His name!! In Psalms 50: 10 15, He declares that every beast of the forest is mine and the cattle upon a thousand hills. He goes on to declare that all the fowls of the mountains and wild beasts of the field are His. He lets us know that we can call upon Him in the day of trouble and He will deliver, then we will glorify Him. His name is JESUS!!! If you continue to trust in the Lord, He will deliver you. Listen intently for His voice of direction and He will bring you out. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the pressures of this life always remember that your strength, deliverance, and victory is in the name of JESUS!!! Let the words of the song below minister to you and may God continue to richly bless you! He is the lily of the valley; He is the bright and morning star. He is the Rose of Sharon, Jesus is His name. He is Alpha and Omega, He is the beginning and the end. He is the first and the last, Jesus is His name. 7 Caregiver Inspiration THE STRENGTH OF FRIENDS Submitted By Sister Debbie Adams can do it myself! Is this a quote from a stubborn two-year-old or a determined caregiver? Caregiving doesn t have to be a one-man show. Seeking help from others is not a sign of weakness. Friends and family can provide the emotional support we need to get through the stress of tough times. Though others often want to help, they don t know specifically what we need. Why not accept a pleasant visit? Or allow a friend to house sit or provide a respite so you can enjoy a little time away? Maybe someone wants to bring a dinner or provide transportation to the doctor. Letting others help gives them an opportunity for service--and offers us a chance to break free from the tiring caregiving routine. God gives us friends so we can bear each other s burdens. We are created to connect with others, especially in difficult times--and that cord of three strands (you, your friend, and God) is not quickly broken. That cord of friendship provides support and strength for the demanding responsibilities of caregiving. Father, I thank You for providing friends to support me at this time. Give me courage to ask for what I need and the grace to accept their offers. Love you much...
