Beanum Jr. Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, our captain of salvation, and our soon-coming King. We give thanks unto God for being so merciful to us and for his long suffering. We thank Him for not letting us perish but allowing us to come into his presence with repentance. The most common Hebrew word for repentance is from the root nabam and signifies a change of mind or purpose and sometimes it signifies being sorry. The New Tes t am en t c onc ep t i s expressed by the Hebrew verb shub, which means to turn or return and is sometimes translated as repent. Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations. Pastor For every one of the house of Lynn Israel, or of the stranger that W. sojourneth in Israel, which Beanum separateth himself from me, Jr. and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the Lord will answer him by myself: And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the Lord (Ezekiel 14:6-8). There is truly a need for repentance. Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:6-9). Seeing the times in which we live, these truly are the last days. Sin and evil are all around us, as He said it would be before he returned. Let s. present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..(romans 12:1-2 paraphrased). My prayer is that we turn from our sinful ways and turn to God and be pleasing in his sight. Amen. Verse of the Month And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)

2 A Word from Our Elders Editor s Article Holy Ghost I always get to my section and never ever know what to write, but God always drops something in my spirit, and this time is no different. I began to think about school and how I was always excited to see my friends, hear about their summer, see their new clothes and shoes. Each memory that recollected had me smiling like a child but the fondest memory that I recalled was that day I received the Holy Ghost. I will never forget that day. It s an unexplainable feeling and it s one that those who truly want to know God should experience. I want to encourage those who are seeking the Holy Ghost to gain as much knowledge and understanding as you can. Ask God for understanding because he will certainly give it to you. God wants to gift you with his precious spirit, but you have to be willing to empty yourself of yourself. Trust me when I tell you that God is the best thing going but He will not force you to follow him or worship him. Don t be afraid to ask questions! How will you know if you never ask? I encourage anyone to always chase after God, always seek to be in his presence. I promise you his love is like no other. No one is this world will love you like He does and His love can and will NOT ever be duplicated. In your quest for him, lean on Him, love on Him, cry to Him and he will hold you up when you re leaning, he will certainly love you back. Oh and honey after you cry to Him just sit there or lay there and He will wrap His arms around you and comfort you and take away all of your hurt, pain, sadness and he will dry By: Sister Keli Hughes, Editor your eyes. He is so awesome and every day with Him is sweeter than the day before. My honest prayer is for those seeking God to do so with an open heart and mind. I pray that you don t allow yourself to get caught up in the appearances or caught up with those who play church. I pray God open your spiritual eyes. If you are ever unsure of anything, ask God first and ask Him to show you the best person to talk to. If you allow God to be a part of your decision making you will have no trouble making the right decision. I know that having the Holy Ghost is the best but please don't think for one second that every day will be easy. The Devil will try to knock you down any way He can and He will use anybody, and that is when you have to be rooted and grounded. Get you a prayer partner or group and stick together; you will always come out victorious even if the road to the victory was beyond bumpy. I love y all! 3 Temple Women Speak Temple Men Speak The Holy Ghost By: Brother Juan McIntosh Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the head of my life. I thank God for the Holy Ghost. Acts 2: 38 says, Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. There is joy, peace, and long suffering in the Holy Ghost so let us receive the Holy Ghost. God bless you in going forth. Gift of God By: Sister Janet Parker I was asked to write for the month of September not knowing if I could do it or not but God s word said be not afraid I can do all things through him. I thought about Peter walking on water and how as long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus he could make it and after that thought I said, ok. Then I realized what month I was asked to write for and it wasn t hard to do. September is a special month for me because I received a wonderful gift. I thought when my son was born that was the best thing that could have happened to me but, there was a woman named Mary who also had a son and she didn t even know the power he carried. One Sunday there was an altar call and people were going to the altar, but me being afraid I stayed in my seat. I sat there looking down at my hands and I got that feeling when you know someone is looking at you. I looked up and Pastor Beanum was looking at me. He beckoned for me to come and I was afraid. I mean to tell you I was afraid, but I can tell you now that Mary s son, Jesus, can wash our sins away. I received the best gift of my life, the Holy Ghost, on September 17, 1999 and it didn t cost anything. This was a wonderful gift, and I can t think of anyone who would give his or her life for you or me. But He did and it was the best gift in life. Volume 32, Issue 9 September 2, 2012 Page 3

Being critical does not please God. You can be critical in many ways. One is to slander, or say things that you know aren't true about someone. You might gossip or talk behind someone's back. You might even say things to someone's face that are critical. Often humor can be used in a critical way as we toss barbs back and forth. Critical comments can hurt someone's feelings, or cause even more serious damage to a relationship. The apostle Paul, in his letter to the Philippians, exhorts us to let our "gentleness be known to all men" (Phil 4:5). In Colossians 3:17, Paul also tells us that our words should be spoken in the name of Jesus. Critical words do not meet this standard. "Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually. Your tongue devises destruction, like a sharp razor working deceitfully. You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking righteousness. Selah. 7 Caregiver Inspiration LAUGHTER THAT HEALS By Sister Debbie Adams --Based on Article by Leigh Anne Jasheway-Bryant The stress from caregiving can take its toll on our health and make our role as family caregivers even more difficult. One of the best ways to reduce stress and feel better about the caregiver role is to laugh. Laughter has been shown to improve both physical and emotional health and to help us feel renewed and rejuvenated. Here are six simple ways to add more laughter to your life: 1. Make funny friends. People who make you laugh not only give you the gift of laughter, they also help teach you how to change your perspective on life and lighten up yourself. 2. Read funny greeting cards, especially if you ve had a really stressful day. Greeting cards are great because they deliver a laugh almost immediately and they represent different types of humor, especially the ones that make music. 3. Have five of your favorite funny movies on videotape so you can watch them when you re feeling overwhelmed by stress. Consider funny movies to be part of your emergency first-aid humor kit. 4. Wear a funny button in public. Wearing a funny button communicates to everyone who sees you that you have a sense of humor and are open to hearing about their humorous experiences. 5. Look for the funny. Instead of focusing on life s miseries, try to find the laughter in everything that goes on around you. The majority of things we laugh at come from spontaneous situations that aren t meant to be funny. 6. Fake it. Studies show that you don t have to feel like laughing to get the benefits! It s just like exercise; if you work out you ll get fitter whether you feel like working out or not. If you fake laughter, you will get the benefits. Try it. Just say, Ha Ha. Now, Ha Ha Ha. Now, Haaaa, Haaaa, Haaaa. Keep going and you will soon be laughing at yourself. Father, thank You for the gift of laughter to heal our souls. Let us not forget this wonderful gift! Love you much...
