Seeing the late time in which we live there is trouble on every hand, but God is in control and always will be. Even though we know not the day nor hour when He is to return, we do know that the midnight hour is nearing. It's clearly imminent and we must choose whom we shall serve. As in Joshua 24:14-15 (AMP), Now therefore, fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and truth, remove the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the (Euphrates) river and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the Lord choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served, that was on the other side of the river or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Will it be God or the anti- Christ? The image of the beast is forming even here in America making it easier to spread false doctrine. More companies are implanting micro chips in employees. It could be a warning of the mark of the beast. Rev. 13:15-17 (AMP), And he is given power to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast will (appear to speak) and cause those who do not bow down and worship the image of the beast to be put to death. Also compel all the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead (signifying allegiance to the beast), and that no one will be able to buy or sell, except the one who has the mark, or either the name of the beast, or of the number of his name. Again, wake up for the time is ripe for a man to rise supposing to have answers for all of our problems, like make America great again. Thanks be to our great God, He and only He has all power in His hands, and extends His love, mercy and grace to all m a n k i n d. A m e n a n d amen. Marilyn Silver Spiritual Famine in the Land ; Amos 8:11- Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: Famine meaning starvation, deprivation, a shortage, in need, in want. Famine is lack, insufficiency, hardship, distress. Famine is the opposite of abundance. Dear readers, can you imagine a spiritual famine in the land. What would that look like if the Word of God was absent? What if people were looking for the Word and could not find it? Let s think about that for a moment. People would be looking for the truth, righteousness, holiness and could not find it. We would probably have chaos in every city, drug addicts working the streets 24/7, divorces skyrocketing, people starving, hate crimes, new diseases, no self-control, wars and rumors of wars, families killing families, people shacking up, fornicating, committing adultery, unnatural sex acts, and sin on the rampage. These things would be happening if we had a spiritual famine in the land. But wait this sounds like what is going on TODAY!! 2 Timothy 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. How can we be in a spiritual famine with so many Virtueonline.com brick and mortar churches and many online churches? How can we be in a spiritual famine when there are so many Christians? It s check-up time! Are we Christians sharing the Word of God through our walk, through our talk, and through our faithfulness to the commands of Christ. Are our lights showing others to Christ or are we hiding it under a bush? Is there a shortage of our witness for Christ? When we fail to witness for the Lord we add to the spiritual famine. Some have lost the desire for Christ. Yet, many are searching for sound doctrine, but are finding weak witnesses, compromising dispositions, lukewarm faith and nonchalant attitudes regarding salvation through JESUS CHRIST. We, those filled with the power of the Holy Ghost, must share our experience of Jesus with the lost, the empty, the hurting, the depressed, and with those who are lacking salvation. We, the church, have a spiritual responsibility to reach the lost. Faith without works is dead. Be a vessel for the Lord in these last days. Speak life to a dying soul and be an example of Christ. Get a second wind, run and encourage the lost, share the word of God. Let s be a part of the spiritual solution through our abundance of witnessing for Christ, rather than a part of the spiritual famine which causes a shortage of witnesses. Stand and live for Christ! Love and peace to all. Temple Elders Speak by: Elder Torrey Miller Greetings Saints of the Most High God, and praise the Lord! Truly, He is worthy to receive all the praises we offer to Him. The Psalm declares, From the rising of the sun, unto the going down of the same the LORD S name is to be praised (Psalm 113:3). This means that God is to be praised around the clock (24 hours a day; 7 days a week). Yes, He is that AWESOME! There was a song written a few years ago entitled, I Just Can t Stop Praising His Name. Nevertheless, we know that the goal of the enemy is to afflict us with life s troubles and issues to the point that we become discouraged and eventually stop praising God. The devil desires to steal, kill, and even destroy our praise because he understands that there is power in praise. However, no matter what challenges we are faced with in this life, let us remember that we must never stop praising the name of Jesus! On a good day, He is worthy. On a bad day, He is still worthy. He is a good God even on a bad day. Therefore, when you re well, praise Him. When you re sick, praise Him. When you re up praise Him. When you re down, praise Him. Praise Him when your bank account is full. Also, praise Him when you have insufficient funds. When we do this, we are letting the devil know that we just can t stop, but will continue to praise God in every circumstance. 3 Temple Men Speak by: Deacon Sylvester Silver What In The World Do I Want? Praise the Lord Everybody! Greetings in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior, Keeper, Comforter and Deliverer. Sometimes I sit and think about the many things on this earth. When I think about it; there is a lot to behold. We go about our day to day living enjoying life. We go on vacation and travel to so many exciting places. There may be times we put some of our desires before God. Many things on this earth may make us happy and give us enjoyment. But, when I think about how Jesus had fasted forty days and forty nights and was led by the Spirit up to the wilderness to be tempted by Satan it makes me think of the things Satan is still showing us to tempt us. Matthew 4:1-10, speaks of Jesus being taken upon an exceeding high mountain and showed all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them. Then Satan tells Jesus that he will give him all these things if he falls down and worships him. But, what in the world do I want? Jesus has promised me heaven if I walk upright before Him. I can go to heaven and be with the Lord forever, walk on streets paved with gold, no need for the sun or the moon. There will be no night. For the Lord God is our light. All down here will soon pass. No need to be caught up in this world or the things of this world. What down here do I want? Nothing, when it comes to going back with the Lord. God bless you always Graduates Recognition- by: Sis. Chrissy is currently employed at the Children s Urgent Care Center in Short Pump, Virginia. Chrissy enjoys shopping and traveling. Camille S. Jones is the daughter of Sister Dory McIntosh and they reside in Culpeper, VA. Camille graduated on May 19, 2017, from Eastern View High School in Culpeper, Virginia. Camille received her High School Advanced Diploma with two seals for math and one seal for computer science. Camille plans to attend Germanna Community College for 2 years to obtain a degree in Accounting. Camille enjoys drawing, taking pictures, family and friends. Nichole Lewis is the daughter of Deacon Larry Adams Sr. and Sis Alice Adams-Moore and they reside in Ladysmith, VA. Nicole received her Bachelor s of Healthcare Administration from ECPI University in Richmond, VA on June 10, Nicole plans to continue her journey of school and obtain her Master s degree with an ultimate goal of establishing a non-profit business in the behavioral health field for women. Her hobby is being her children s biggest cheerleader. Jamal Deshay Robinson is the son of Deacon Steve Robinson and Sister Linda Robinson and they reside in Mineral, VA. Jamal graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA receiving his Bachelor of Science in Information Systems on May 13, Jamal graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.9 with a GPA of 4.07 in his major. Jamal received the highest academic honor of Summa cum laude. He also received the Distinguished Service Award for the information systems department and the highest business honor by being inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma Organization. Jamal will start his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond in June of Jamal loves playing and watching basketball as well as spending time with family and friends.. Brian Alexander Silver is the son of Deacon Sylvester and Sis Marilyn Silver and they reside in Spotsylvania, VA. Brian graduated from Spotsylvania High School on June 10, 2017, with his diploma. During his high school career, Brian was the manager for the boy s basketball team for 3 years and had perfect attendance for the last 3 years in high school. Brian desires to obtain a job and get the Holy Ghost. He also wants to go to Woodrow Wilson Work Force and Rehabilitation Center and major in culinary arts or small animal care. Brian enjoys working and playing basketball. Please continue to pray for all of our graduates and Sis. Sandra Woolfolk While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. - 2 Corinthians 4:18 Pinterest.com Some folk trust in rulers, jobs, houses, land, and riches. But these things that are seen by the eye are temporary and will soon pass away. Temporal (temporary) things are controlled by circumstances and conditions. If we have a wise leader and God shows favor then the economy will be good, jobs will be plentiful and possessions will increase. However, if the leader is unwise and does not seek the guidance and favor of God, then we as a people will reap the consequences. Thanks be to God, our hope is not in houses, land, jobs, and rulers, but in the One who is unchangeable, the One who knows and owns everything. And not only has he promised that he will bless and keep us in this present world, but He has prepared a place for us in Heaven; a place where there will be no more sickness, death, poverty or unrest. For Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. Jesus has already paid the price for our salvation. All we must do is accept Him as our Lord and Savior, believe that He was born of the virgin Mary, that He died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the 3rd day (with all power)! He will fill us with His Holy Spirit and abide in us. And because of this, we have HOPE! God has not promised us that everything would always go well for us, but He has said that He would never leave nor forsake us. He will be with us even until the END. And if it is His will that we should see death, He has promised that He will go with us even to the grave. But that is not the end. We have this HOPE, that one day Jesus is coming back again to receive us unto Himself, that where He is we will be also. And even though the skin worms may eat our flesh, we will again rise in the rapture to ever be with the Lord. Eyes have not seen nor ears have heard all that God has prepared for us. Our HOPE is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and His righteousness. Be wise and build your hope on things you cannot see (eternal); not on things that are temporary and will pass away. Run from evil Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy bones (Proverbs 3:7-8). Put God first in your life. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). Check yourself by God s Word Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee (Psalms 119:11). Listen to the Holy Spirit But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26). Rest in God s love Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:20). Following each of these daily steps are not easy. Trusting God takes a whole-hearted commitment and dedication. 8 48TH PASTORAL CELEBRATION: 48 th P as toral B an q u et June 17th, What a blessed day...all day!! The 48th Pastoral Celebration was a highly awaited event. God has blessed us with a pastor who loves the Lord and people, Elder Lynn W. Beanum. He gives selflessly of himself as he serves the people of God. Mother Ruby Beanum, his lovely wife, is a strong support to her husband. We thank God for their sacrifices and labor of love down through the years!! A delicious and enjoyable banquet was held in their honor. 48th Pastoral Anniversary Service Bishop Ronald Demery Congratulatory Letter As we exited the Fellowship Hall and journeyed to the sanctuary, God poured out His anointing upon us there. Our speaker Bishop Ronald Demery, of Bible Way ChurchWashington, DC., brought forth a powerful message. It was titled, When the Enemy Hollers At You, Holler Back! The scriptural reference was Matthew 4:1-11. Pastor Demery reminded us that we need to talk back to the devil (bully/enemy) and praise God Pastor Beanum, S. Johnson, H Bailey for the promise. He said, It s going to be a fight to the finish. What a WORD!! Presentations, words of encouragement and much love were showered upon our Pastor Lynn and Mother Ruby Beanum. Pastor Beanum was presented with a Congratulatory Letter from the senior United States Senator from Virginia, Mark R. Warner. The correspondence applauded Pastor Beanum for his labor of love in the church and community. It was presented by Pastor s cousin, Sister Shirley Johnson and read by his sister, Sister Helen Bailey. An excerpt from the letter stated: This anniversary celebration is an occasion not only to commemorate your commitment to the needs of the congregation, but also to recognize your extraordinary dedication to improving the entire community. You should be proud of the work you have done to promote faith and good citizenship; the Commonwealth is a better place in which to live, work and worship thanks to your efforts. We give thanks to God for Pastor Beanum s labor and dedication to the work of the Lord. Continue to pray for him and the Temple Family as we enter another blessed year. 9 O R N E R A R E G I V E R S He Will Equip You In an Old Testament book in the Bible God assigned a man named Moses an important task. It was an important task, but it was also an overwhelmingly daunting task and would be a huge undertaking for Moses. Hence, Moses was understandably afraid. (Read about it in Exodus chapter three in the Bible.) Moses bega n to make excuses for not being able to do the job which God had given him to do. The first question that Moses asked God when God gave him his new assignment was "Who am I, that I should do this job? But Moses was asking the Lord the wrong question. Moses should not have asked, "Who am I?" The real question should have been "Who is God?" Moses should not have been focusing on his own inadequacies, but he should have been focusing on the power of the Lord to help him. Moses should have been focusing on the faithfulness of the great God who had been faithful to His people in the past and who had promised to be with them in the future. Even though Moses continued to make excuses for awhile ultimately Moses obeyed God, and God used him in mighty ways Care-giving has to be one of life s most challenging tasks. Dear caregiver, know, however, that God is a faithful and dependable God. Completely trust in Him to always be with you and strengthen you. God is not just a God of glory and power. As God was with Moses in the past in the frightening and overwhelming task He assigned him, He will continue to be with you also in the sometimes overwhelming challenges of caregiving. God has assigned you the task of caregiving, dear Christian caregiver. Because He has assigned you this task, He will also equip you. He will give you His strength as long as you need it. Our strength has nothing to do with ourselves. Our strength is wholly dependent on the Lord and His faithfulness. We must learn the secret of bringing our burdens to the Lord and leaving them there. God says that He will be with us wherever He asks us to go and in whatever He asks us to do. Trust Him and lean heavily on Him, dear caregiver! god-does-not-call-the-equipped-he-equips-the Thank You!
